Because It's True || Nate & Bailey
thebaileygraythings
Getting off at 10.30pm on new Year's Eve was a blessing. Nate remembered those days back in London where he has to work all the way through the holiday, never catching a break. Here, an ocean and continent away, he found himself enjoying more of life -- appreciating the relationships he had formed over the past six months. But tonight, the Brit didn't want to spend it getting shitfaced and partying with faceless girls with grabby hands. He had come here specifically for one person only -- Bailey.
Weaving through the wild crowd, Nate managed to buy himself a drink -- something strong enough to wind him down but wouldn't make him drunk too fast. He wanted to take his time tonight, being shitfaced by the time the clock strikes midnight was not how he wants to welcome 2015. It will be a year of good, positive things he feels. Glancing at the DJ stage at the current floor he was in, his heart sank just a teeny bit when it wasn't Bailey at her station. He went to the upper levels, looking for her, eyes straining against the bright lights, trying not to get annoyed by people screaming at the top of their lungs in his ears.
By the time he reached the ninth floor, Nate was sure his ears were ringing. Still, the drink in his hands were still full and it was miraculous he didn't spill any of it whilst trying to make his way around. Glancing around to look for Bailey, it was almost difficult to spot her for she was actually pretty small. He had never seen her in action before despite the months of knowing each other and Nate felt ashamed for not asking her more about her work. He stood there for a moment, enjoying the music she was playing before pushing his way forward, wanting to get closer. He wasn't too sure if it was a good idea but, if she's on a break she would see him. Once within her line of sight, the Brit waved at her and caught her attention. Grinning at her, he raised his glass up, swaying to the music and gesturing to her that he'll be there.
