the question made zaeda’s skin crawl. “i’ve never considered myself to look like one, so maybe looks don’t fucking matter.” it wasn’t his fault, and they knew it was unfair to snap at anyone who wasn’t actually involved in their death, but then again, life (and death) weren’t fucking fair. still, recognizing him, remembering the kid he used to be, actually made her feel a little guilty about the way she responded. she should have been happy for him for surviving, and deep down, she knew probably was – but just then, she was spiraling all over again, heart and head pounding as they remembered their life had ended. ended. that moment, the pain and the silence, rang in her mind ad infinitum. it made it hard to be happy or level. “so, you survived. how’d you manage that?”

“you ... love them,” she echoed. she would have been lying if she said she hadn’t noticed kanan’s closeness with general syndulla, but she hadn’t known what to make of it, what to chalk it up to. she’d noticed kanan’s slight distance too, but that was easily waved away. he’d spent so much time without her. they just needed to get to know each other again, to catch up. this was something else.

Every breath had still be laced with pain. Healing wasn't exactly the easiest thing in the world when Kylia had such a hard time sitting still. She wanted to help. She wanted to be out on the field and helping those that were injured during the attack. Those that lost something or someone. There were always people in the galaxy that needed a hand in helping and she always had it in her heart to be the one that was there to give that hand. However, her pain knew she wasn't allowed to very much get out past the temple now and that is where she finds herself, she's walking through the halls, the smells filling her lungs and trickling under her nostrils as she walks, though, it's not long before she stops, gaze upon the young man that's in front of her. "Kanan!" She exclaims, her lips forming in a smile so wide that it reaches her ears. "It's been awhile! How are you? I do hope the Force has found you well!"
