The reason it's hard for me to watch Legend of Korra has nothing to with Korra at all. It's coming to terms with the fact that all of my favorite characters are either dead or close to death.

i honestly love the episode “the avatar and the firelord ” which is episode 6 of season 3. the parallels of aang and zuko both getting to know more about roku and sozin is so well made. it’s so touching and just so sad how a friendship can turn this way just because of power and greed. but it also proves that it can be the other way, too. the connection roku and sozin had is literally the opposite of aang and zuko. also can i just quickly mention here how sad roku died and i thought it’s even more saddening how his dragon flew up to him and encased him basically trying to protect him from the fire, god i will never get over this episode.
Katara was a dark-skinned female lead in an animated show. She got the guy in the end. She was portrayed as desirable and lovable. If only this was more common.
