Glypha’s history - Prologue
D...D...Dad..
I lost my father... my race, my home ...
But one day...
... I’ll take revenge on them.

Before returning to the third part of Glypha x Rodan, it seemed important to me to relate the past of my OC, in order to explain the reason for Glypha's hatred towards Rodan.
When Ghidorah arrives on Earth, he takes control of many kaijus, including Rodan's race, who attack the protective kaijus. Robinet, leader of the Griffins, faces a battle through the air with Radon (Rodan's father) totally controlled by Ghidorah, but everything ends badly. Robinet, without a wing and totally wounded, surrenders to his opponent, on the verge of death, still believing that one day the peace and natural balance that once existed among the kaijus will return. That hope he put in his daughter, Glypha.
But inside, Glypha has a very deep wound, full of pain, sadness and hatred. Will she be able to overcome those revenge wishes and fulfill her father's last wish?
flashback for kyle (I'm obsessed with kyle he's my fav I'm sorry)
//that’s fair~ and he is the most tragic so works out for me~\
It’d had been a long day at Insomnia’s Cure but it was finally starting to wind down the further the sun sunk under the horizon. Less and people entered the shop that bustled with Baristas cleaning up after the afternoon rush, finals at the community college keeping the whole District busy.
Kyle had just sent off a 1st Level Barista to pick up a shipment of coffee that accidentally got shipped to the wrong cafe. He had told them not to get lost but only got a vague impression of confusion why that would happen, the shop was only a few blocks away.
Kyle wondered sometimes how he was when he was a Level One. He’d been a Level Two for a year and half now and he couldn’t imagine it any other way.
Human thoughts and emotions, how does anyone go through life without them? Surely it helps when you feel the positive ones daily, a high he would never get enough when a certain 3rd Level Barista would smile at him, or when their fingers would “accidentally” brush when making coffee orders together. Kyle felt giddy just thinking about it.
Kyle nearly jumped out of his skin when a pair of strong warm arms wrapped around his middle. He relaxed slightly at the familiar caramel skin, lightly tracing his fingers over James’ arms.
“James, you know you shouldn’t-” Kyle tried to warn, there were very weird strict rules of social conduct among Baristas.
James and Kyle had begun a discreet relationship some time ago and had to keep vigilant that no one ever found out. Falling in love for a Barista? Unheard of, most would think they didn’t feel that deeply, but Kyle knew he did.
James ignored Kyle’s protest in favor of nuzzling his nose into the crook of Kyle’s neck.
“No one’s here, Kyle~ Relax.” James purred in his deep baritone, Kyle could feel the smirk against his skin that sent tingles down his arms to his finger tips and back.
“Y-You know that could change.” Kyle said, turning in the embrace, pressing himself into James despite his words.
“You are so beautiful…” James said sounding breathless, softly leaning in to press a kiss to Kyle’s lips.
Kyle knew they shouldn’t, not in the shop, but it was so difficult to resist it when James kissed him. This must be that good place humans talked about, it felt perfect. The bliss that pulsed through his being was indescribable and he tried each day to find the words.
A loud crack and terrible hiss tore them apart, a ice cold dread filling the 2nd Level Barista. The worst thing that could have happened…
The Manager had left their office.
Everything after that had been such a dark blur. Kyle remembered the screams, his own and James. The haunting sounds of the Manager as they took James away still haunt Kyle when he pretends to sleep.
When Kyle returned to the shop the next day, not remembering ever going to the Apartments, he felt no high. He never thought he would again. Kyle sunk to the lowest pit of human despair and each day that passed told him one thing.
James would never be coming back.
Kyle would never see the soft crinkle of his eyes when a genuine smile graced James’ face, he would never know how it felt to be held like he was the world. There would be no more kisses, secret glances, pretending this life was okay because he was there.
Because he was not. James would never be there.
He would never be there to hold Kyle’s hand and tell him being a Barista was okay, they loved the work so why not? James would never be there to press their foreheads together to help Kyle feel grounded when he thought he might be losing himself.
If Baristas do have hearts, Kyle’s broke that day.
He was never going to let this happen to any other Barista. Never again would he allow himself to go through this again either. Night Vale was a dark place, the light was only an illusion.
Kyle had weak days, praying to all the gods of Night Vale to either give him back James or take away his feelings.
He would never hear that deep baritone say his name, he would never-
“Kyle. Kyle?”
A soft tenor voice shook the 3rd Level Barista from his own thoughts.
“Kyle…your eyes are leaking…” Brent said looking at him with…concern.
Kyle wiped away the coffee fueled tears, embarrassed that he had been caught in an emotional moment.
“It’s alright Brent. What did you need?” Kyle asked, forcing out his costumer service voice.
Brent’s permeant smile faltered slightly, he took Kyle’s hand, remembering it had been some Kyle did to comfort others.
“It’s going to be okay.” Brent parroted, hoping even though he did not understand it would give the comfort Kyle needed.
“R-Right.” Kyle’s words were choked, he cleared his throat. “You’re right, let’s get back to work, you were telling me about an order?”
Brent thought better than to press at the moment and repeated what he had been telling Kyle before. He hoped someday he would know why Kyle would stare into the distance like that and how Brent could make it better.
