main character and their best friend are in a car, driving towards their favorite place to hang out when all of a sudden they get into a accident with another driver. there’s a song playing in the main characters head - “if i lay here..if i just lay here” - the best friend is awake and calling the ambulance, the song is still playing in the main characters head. “would you lye with me, and just forget the world”. when all of a sudden, main character is woken up, hooked up to tons of tubes and wires in a hospital bed. “all that i am, all that i ever was” their friends are surrounding them, trying to see if their ok. “is here in your perfect eyes, their all i can see.” suddenly, the person who the main character had the biggest crush on for the longest time makes it their responsibility to protect the main character, keep them as safe as they can and care and tend to them after the life changing accident.
