These two freaks are both Opiliones, an order of arachnids which are relatives of spiders but not spiders themselves (note the single body segment instead of the two seen in true spiders).

Sadocus asperatus 🕷️🥀

These little critters are pretty great fathers! They take care of the eggs and clean up nests. They’re also completely harmless!! (Maybe except the smell they can emit when threatened)

Harvestmen - Opiliones

(PART 1) / (PART 2) / (PART 3) / (PART 4) / (PART 5)

Opiliones is an order of arachnids, commonly known as harvestmen or, even more popularly, as daddy longlegs (I need to add that in my mother tongue, they are called "hooiwagens", which means haywagon, and I love that). Representatives of this order occur on all continents except Antarctica.

Let me note, however, this order might look similar to the order Araneae, also known as spiders, but they are NOT spiders.

Also, Caddo agilis kind of reminds me of the xenomorphs from the Alien franchise . . . only, minus the teeth, and the tail, and more . . . but the head shape is kind of similar.

Note : I used iNaturalist as a source for finding out about the distribution of these spiders, because I could not find any other sources.
