I am on a precipice.

I am on a precipice and the world is watching with eyes unseeing.

I am on a precipice. I will fall. When I do, I will become nothing but the mess some poor man will have to scrape clean. He’ll curse me, as he should.

Or perhaps he’ll take no notice of me.

Perhaps, as he scrubs clean the pavement beneath, I will become alike paint, another stain. He will go home, tired and sore from a day’s work, and kiss his wife, and hug his children. The thought of me might make his arms tighten around all he holds dear, except I am - was - a stain. I was stain, and so he will hug his family no more closer or tighter. If he has no family to go home to, he won’t look out the window of his fifth floor apartment and wonder… No. This man thinks of no precipices when he goes home, after cleaning me up. He thinks only of the beer in his hand and the show on T.V. 

He will not think of death.

The world will not hear when I fall, because trees in forests do not make sound. They will watch, and see nothing. I will splatter in full view of the crowd below, and they will notice only when, on their busy way, they stumble and look down. Down, down, down - down, at the speck of me.

Down I go, as I should have long ago.

glittering  silver  shadow  paints  disco-balls  above  round  brown  eyes  ,  which  fall  on  her  new  patron.  unusual...  their  lounge  usually  housed  shady  sorts  ,  this  girl  didn’t  look  the  type.  she  glances  beneath  spidery  lashes  and  glossed  lips  form  a  smile.  ‘  welcome  to  CLUB  VENUS  ’   she  greets  ,  her  tone  a  paradoxical  mix  of  flat  and  alluring.  ‘  what  can  i  get  ya  honey?  ’

DAPHNE’S EYES LIGHT UP at the sight of drew, DEFINITELY EXCITED because it meant time to go and explore places was near, but before all of that she wanted to spend some quality time with her friend. she runs up to him, she thoughtfully didn’t bring any heels today, and she hugs him slightly. smile bright. 

‘ -- hi you, took you forever but i’m super glad you are here...what took you so long? ’
