Dani Luvisi Art on Gum Road
One of my Tri 6 students, Tom Skender, has an incredibly mature project for his major project development. He was to take on the topic of sexualisation of women in video games and research the psychology behind why women are illustrated the way they are and why this appeals to men. He uncovered various tropes and semiotics through his research and set out to create a book that had reinterpretations of these characters in his own eyes and realising these women as warriors and not fantastical sexual objects.
One of the artists that he looked to, to learn from, is Dani Luvisi an incredibly talented artist specialising in noir and action digital paintings.
This trimester break I’m going to take a page from Tom’s book and spend an easy $2 on one of Dani’s amazingly affordable, incredible painting tutorials through Gum Road.
Tom spent most of trimester 5 researching this artist but also working really hard developing his own painting skills by commiting to Dani’s tutorials and the tutorials of a few others which I’ll list over the next few days.
