Your eyes fluttered open, as you groggily sat up. Looking around the room, you took note that there was an empty space beside you, making you frown a little. “You’re awake,” a voice from the doorway startled you, turning to look at your girlfriend. A light smile graced your features, seeing the tray of food she held only made it widen.

“Happy anniversary,” she said, excitement laced in her voice. As she wasn’t always the most affectionate, you were surprised when she leaned down to press a lingering kiss to your lips. “Because I really wanted to give you mine first,” you said, pulling a small box from behind your pillow. “Open it,” you encouraged, fidgeting as you watched eagerly. Her lips parted in shock, she looked up to you with questioning eyes. “It’s a promise ring,” you confirmed, tears springing to your eyes once more.

Saebyeok sniffled, making you concerned. She wasn’t one to show vulnerability often, so you were worried that she didn’t like it. “I love it, I love you,” she spoke, her heart swelling with joy. Pulling you into a tight hug, burying her head into your neck. When she pulled back, you gazed into the familiar dark orbs.
