The year is closing, and after the fateful Episode 1 Release, preparatory work begins for episode 2! I'm finally starting to do some much needed concept art, character turnovers and texture packs to facilitate my work moving forward... and this involves preparing the ground for newcoming characters in episode 2!

And therefore...

Meet Saeruk!

Saeruk is one of the main Gerudo characters in Thralls of Power. She is a ranger, self-reliant, observant, always worried. She is about Ganondorf's age, and watched him turn from boy to man, from a kid to a king. Their relationship is layered, profound resentment and infuriating admiration regularly at war in her mind. All Saeruk wants is for the Gerudo to stand united, safe, and free.

And she will not leave any of them behind.

I have a lot of fondness for her, her arc is one of my favorites in the story, and I really hope you'll like her just as much once she's properly introduced in Episode 2!!

#thoughts #thralls of power #thralls of spoilers #ganondorf #saeruk #I was thinking about them and UGHHHH #I feel like if I miss some of the vibes it could be read in a way that I don't want #like there's a huge deal of toxicity between them don't get me wrong #but there's also More to it than just the patterns they could loosely fit into #while still acknowledging that the patterns *are there* and they are a major problem indeed!#yeah I need to put some serious work into conveying that #not gonna be easy!!#can people not demonize a PoC man *while also* acknowledging the way he takes PoC women for granted is hasthag problematic #and understand this dynamic kind of outside or at least in a parallel lens from a more 101 patriarcal reading #and that it makes more sense to understand the issues (on both sides) from a feudal lens that *happens* to use gender as a divider #HMMM.#maybe it's a lot to ask for but we will try!!

Ok!!! I think I have a first attempt for one of my gerudo oc' musical theme for Thralls. It was a bit daunting, and I'm not sure whether it's fully there, but it's something!!

This one is super old!! it was a bit of a personal brainstorming session about Ganondorf and Saeruk's relationship, Unhallowed Vespers Edition (the Thralls version is a little different, as in: Ganondorf in SUPER ACE in Thralls --and is allowed to be, because imo he is still ace in Vespers it's just that he doesn't really get the luxury to understand himself as needing to forge his own boundaries-- and so their relationship is never explicitely romantic or sexual). It's barely a page long and not really structured as a scene or anything, just ~Vibes~

But to remind him of this on these months did nothing but fill him with cold rage; shame that he may have ever wanted, fury to know his own flesh cursed with the imprint of every other that once nested against it –inescapably forged by everyone he had ever touched, molding their future in turn. His cold rages were almost akin to a sickness; a glaze in the eye, a light fever, a bite to his words he would never ever apologize for. The Great Ganondorf never apologized. Saeruk did with crumbs of half-thoughts never pushed to their conclusion; held breaths and eyes seeking for an escape; moments of weakness she snatched from him, almost always by force.
