nothing quite like spooking the tarot reader at the safe grad by pulling the nine of cups as the first card out of seven three times in three different decks during a reading~♪ ^-^

finishing high school is more stressful than the thought of me moving away for college
Graduation Day
Although I wasn’t able to take part in the graduation ceremony - convocation - I went along to watch my host sisters and friends receive their diplomas. It was a long ceremony, with several speeches, and over 300 graduates, but I enjoyed seeing how Canadians do grad, which is very different to the New Zealand graduation I experienced last year. It was lovely to see all my friends in their caps and gowns, which isn’t a tradition we use in NZ.
Later on in the day was grad dinner, where the graduates dress up in suits and ballgowns and eat dinner with their families at the convention centre - more speeches, toasts, and videos, followed by dancing and photos. I dressed up a bit too, and it felt lovely to be included when my friends Hannah and Patrick dragged me into the graduation march with them. Everyone was in high spirits and looked gorgeous! Here’s a photo of my friend Quinn and I.
The highlight of the entire grad day for most of the senior class was safe grad, which is a tradition I had never come across before my time in Canada. Safe grad is a party organised by a committee of students and parents in association with a school, that happens after grad dinner in a secure environment where the grads and their guests can have a good time and not be in danger of drink driving or assault or anything like that. Our safe grad was absolutely great, the committee did such a great job - there was a DJ, refreshments, photo booth, and a spray/glitter tattoo booth. Everyone was in such a good mood, no one got out of hand and when the DJ announced the final song (Don’t Stop Believin’) there were tears and hugs. I was so happy to be there with all the friends I’d made in the last 5 months!
hypnotists are amazing. last night after prom we had a ‘safe grad’ event until 5am and a hypnotist came in and hypnotized a bunch of people from my grad class. one of them thought i was piper from orange is the new black and freaked out and hugged me and asked for a picture. my best friend who went under thought i was harry potter and started faking a british accent and interviewing me. and the looks on their faces were perfect when they snapped out of it. i love hypnotism so much
well, I've certainly watched more boys take off their shirts in sexual ways tonight than any other time in my life. I think I've had my fill of real humans stripping for awhile now. oh in other news safe grad was fun!! probably should have said that first...
Hardest thing I've ever had to do
Pick an outfit for a safe grad….
OMG sleep is sooo nice. Like pure heaven after going about 44-45 hours with out it.
