The last member of the Saffron household (excepting pets), Nene. She's no relation to the Griselda or Marnie. In fact, she's a live-in babysitter/nanny. She's a bit of a spoiled girl from a rich family, and isn't best pleased that she's had to find a job in order to appease her uncle, who threatened to cut her off entirely if she didn't start earning a wage.
She's still quite a bit better as a caretaker for Marnie than the temporary babysitters who were coming and going previously.
(She was created using Ninae as a base, so if you see a resemblance... it's not a coincidence in the meta, but in-game she has no relation to Ninae... maybe a distance cousin of some sort?)
Marnie looks really determined about something. She's currently the only toddler in my main cast.
This lovely lady is currently the only fairy in my main cast, Griselda Saffron. She has a military job, and works hard to care for her adopted daughter, Marnie.
So this last weekend, I used my free time, and profited from the hard work of @blamseastore by downloading their work and using it to convert all my store content to package files. Thanks Blam! ^-~
Sadly, while Blam’s work is impeccable and everything (100%) shows up in my game buy/build/CAS where it should... TS3 always likes to throw wrenches into the works. After completing my task, I found that for some reason my game was treating some of the converted items as different items from the store items, which means a small percentage of items already in use were replaced by the game with base game items. So I’m currently engaged in hunting down these various oddball items and reconverting them myself till the game stops throwing tantrums over it.
“But if you convert your store content to package files, OF COURSE the game will see them as different items!”, you say. Nay nay, my friends. I also thought this until a few weeks ago. It turns out that you CAN convert to packages and use either s3rc or the decompressorizor (which uses s3rc) on your files WITHOUT decrapifying and then the game will see the items as the same item, and ‘Bob’s your uncle’. So far as I can tell, there is nothing at all wrong with Blam’s files either, so I’ve no idea why the game is treating them as different, or why it stops having conniptions if I make a fresh conversion of the item.
More details and some notes and tips for anyone else attempting this under the cut.
In this case it seems to be perhaps 1% of the items, and my only difficulty has been figuring out which ones as there is no rhyme or reason or pattern to which items the game decided were NOT THE SAME. 99% of them show up fine. I’ll prepare a list when I’ve done hunting them all down. For now... the hunt shall continue. To make my hunt easier, I commenced taking even more overly detailed screenshots of my sims homes, both interior and exterior... so since I have no gameplay screenshots, for now I’ll queue up a few of the nicer shots of their homes. Please enjoy.
Sidenote: If you ever do anything like this, be sure to back up both your save files and your lot files first. If you uninstall worlds from the launcher, it will #@$(#@)$* DELETE any save games you have associated with that world. (I backed up my save folder first, I’m okay..) And when you uninstall lots, it will delete them from the library folder as well, so they have to be in your programfiles86 library folder to remain intact.
Protip: (I don’t take credit for this, someone in the Creator’s Cave Discord clued me in) In your DCCache folder, all the .ebc files are your store content. So for quick removal of store content, just rename that folder, create a new DCCache folder and copy over any files not ending in .ebc and voila! All store content removed, and no waiting on the launcher.
