Reposted from @molecule_of_the_day (@get_regrann) - Safranin is a biological stain used very often in microbiology 🧫 to stain cell nuclei red. For those who have used safranin before in the lab 🔬, you probably know that safranin is used in gram staining to counterstain bacteria 🦠 that lost the initial crystal violet stain during decolourisation. Gram staining is a method to differentiate gram negative from gram positive bacteria. Thanks 🙏 @jordi4144 for the suggestion! The molecular structure was created using ChemDoodle.
