I'd find Conomoore more valuable if his lance rank wasn't useless during the indoor chapters. And this is coming from someone who always recruit Xavier.
I understand Conomore being “loser!Finn” as in, what would Finn would have done if Leif was captured held hostage, would he have worked with Leif’s captors to ensure his safety or done something else?
But then don’t interact :’(
Anyways, I’m a sucker for A route because even 5 minutes of Saias on-screen are more important than 10 turns and 36 savestates used due to 10 leadership stars popping up.
Bcs here we stan red eyed saias and red eyes black dragon hiding under his white robes.
he’s totally not related to arvis even if Hirota’s art made him look like his dad.
it’d add more irony to his character, if he looks just like his dad down to the eyes, but tries to be different and everyone’s like “nope” at first, second and third glance (fourth time is the charm though).
I’m really happy to see on reddit new fans discovering FE5 and playing it.
OTOH, with the new translation, something appeared that I would never have expected and gives more fuel to the “Manfroy is an idiot” thread
Apparently, Manfroy was the one who wanted Saias to be appointed as a military officer/in a high position, despite wanting to kill him some years ago?
Ciro notes that this line was a bit contradictory with everything we know, but the line could be seen as Manfroy wanted Saias to be appointed to that role because it was dangerous so he could “publicly” die and he’d be over with him. Or, what Ciro went with, Manfroy didn’t know that Saias was “Arvis’ bastard” but another dude called Saias or cyas
So either Manfroy ignored the many laws of JRPGs (you cannot have two character share a name in the same game/universe) or his plan backfired like the “send evil!Julia to rekt Seliph instead of killing her”
Except if the theory is that Galzus and Felgus were assassinated for the sake of avoiding succession crises, why is it that Cyas's ending (if he stays instead of Sety) blatantly says that he returned to help Velthomer's reconstruction? He's a far bigger threat to Crusader succession than either of them, even if he is a bastard, especially with how tenuous Azel's son's claim would be.
Assassinated? Galzus? Mannanan tried to and failed!
More seriously,
Galzus will first and foremost be a Rivough guy - and the world will never know (T-T) what happened, so they’re the bad guys. He’s a bad guy, and the reason why the war started in the first place.
Mannanan cleaned the place, there are no Rivough supporters anymore (no Rivough anymore i’d say - just a place called Rivough but no “royal” family or anything, and after Danan, it’d be some kind of hell).
Even without the Rivough card, Galzus’ claim comes from his mother, and we all know that women are worth bananas in Jugdral. Marricle was named heir of Isaach because he had major Odo blood and was a man (at least i think so? we don’t know a thing about Isaach and it pisses me) so it’s a glorious case of male primogeniture going on. Marricle’s older sister was just an extra that was dealt with, that’s all.
Besides, Shanan liberated Isaach (except that he didn’t, but ssh) and is the hero who raised Seliph, Galzus is no one. Of course you’d want to support the heroic King Shanan.
(Jugdral AU where Galzus is the one with some random mercenaries etc to liberate Isaach, his claim would be way stronger)
However, I think that Mareeta couldn’t be killed off screen to guarantee a peaceful reign for Shanan’s line, given how she has strong ties to the Thracian royals and Jungby, if Patty and Faval learn about their sister.
Still, the biggest challenge would come from Mareeta’s side - she will be worldwide famous due to her sword prowesses, and that’ll raise questions (wtf she uses astra?). Unless she’s passed off as Ayra’s missing daughter…
On Fergus,
I doubt Fergus’d have been killed.
Besides, if in FE5 Leif’s claim was strong because HB + being a man, post FE4 he’s still the cousin of Seliph and the one who has defeated Travant, on top of having HB + being a man.
So if both of them have minor blood, Leif is still the hero who defeated Travant.
(+ Quan’s son, for whatever that’s worth in the South.)
About Saias…
Well, I spent years trying to find a way about this issue.
Friege’s new Lord makes me wonder if Mr Tine won’t be called Duke Friege because Tine is a woman so her husband is Duke and no consort - or if it means Arthur/Amid inherited.
If there is an Azelle’s son in Velthomer - well, Saias isn’t screaming around that he has Vala major blood. So when major Vala baby appears out of nowhere, either Saias asks his cousin to raise the baby as his own and cousin accepts, or cousin refuses. He’d have no reason to refuse though…
If Saias decides to be a dastard and to wreck havoc by revealing his claim, or if someone else does (Julia?), it’ll be difficult for Azelle’s kid, but still. Saias hasn’t participated in the war, and is moreover Arvis’ son. Do you want Arvis’ son on the throne?
Azelle’s son is a Crusader by virtue of having sided with Seliph during the war, and also, because Azelle is one of the tragic heroes who died with Siggy.
Saias was a member of the Empire and also Arvis’ son.
There’s no choice to make.
If the randoms of Velthomer want a Crusader - major blooded guy - on the throne, they’ll have to wait for Major Vala baby, but under no circumstances would Saias be allowed to become Duke.
If there’s no Azelle’s son…
Well, Saias might unofficially be the de facto leader of Velthomer, but a random sent by Belhalla’s court will be the official Duke.
If Azelle had a daughter :
Saias’ claim on the Dukedom is so flimsy - given all the circumstances - that even a woman might be named Duchess and wait for major Vala baby (and before asking, nope, Saias won’t be able to marry his cousin because remember last time Arvis married someone who had a claim it turned into the Jugdralpocalypse so no).
So to answer to your question : Saias going to Velthomer doesn’t mean anything, since he will never inherit the Duchy.
