saigon cafe, sterling, va. this was my ma’s fave dish - shrimp with banh hoi (rice noodles pressed into sheets cut into squares with scallion oil).
i just remember that my da loved their pho. when he was in a really bad way and was not eating, he asked for pho which takes a pretty long time to make. so we rushed to buy it. somehow the lady at saigon cafe found out from my ma that my da was in the hospital and gave us a full size soup spoon and chopsticks with our to go pho. he loved it!
