🇬🇧 Episode 13: en route to Shanghai... We took off from Bangkok at 7:00 AM and touched ground in Saigon at 11:00. We had plenty of time to reach the Continental Palace Hotel, refresh ourselves, take a meal and have a nap. As the magnificient Saigon Opera House stands in front of our hotel we took this opportunity to listen the opera Carmen from French composer Georges Bizet in the evening. The climate in Saigon is very hot and humid but we managed to stay always fresh with Matin d'Opale No8! 🍋🌱 🇫🇷 Episode 13: en route pour Shanghai ... Nous avons décollé de Bangkok à 7h00 et atterri à Saigon à 11h00 du matin. Plus de temps qu'il n'en faut pour rejoindre le Continental Palace Hotel, nous rafraîchir, prendre un repas et faire une sieste. Le magnifique opéra de Saïgon de style "flamboyant" se situe en face de notre hôtel, aussi le soir nous en avons profité pour écouter une représentation de Carmen de Bizet. #TBT A night at the #SaigonOperaHouse with the crew of #AOShow after weeks of travels Through Thailand & #Vietnam. This impromptu evening was the perfect excuse to experience this fantastic building. Right in the heart of #HoChiMinhCity, the opera house was built in 1898 by architect #EugeneFerret. This building is a historical and architectural treat. I loved every detail from the stone carved statues, wide staircases to the crystal chandeliers that were all imported from France. #LOVE The AO Show was the unexpected gem of the evening. What an excellent insight into the rhythm of the Vietnamese way of life. The mix of theatrics and acrobatics made this an #experience of a lifetime. What a visual journey that was totally unplanned. So if you are in #HCMC, book yourself a ticket! On a personal note, I really enjoy an evening of dressing up, especially when I am travelling for an extended period. This is an absolute #luxury and a great way to reground yourself while on the road. I always bring at least a great outfit to have a night out to break from the tee-shirt and shorts routine. This trip is was obviously all about Balenciaga, of course. You will be amazed by how refreshing and rejuvenating it is.
