It's been a week since we returned home from Mary and Belize, and photos like these make me wish I was still there. The Mary project is only just beginning, but already it's been one amazing learning experience after another. This time it was a first taste of free diving and spear fishing. Spearing and eating 3 lobsters made them taste that much sweeter, especially since I managed not to spear myself or my friends in the process. Thanks first mate Kainie for being both a fantastic spotter (I can't believe I couldn't see that second one) and for cooking these lobster to perfection. And big thanks to captain Manny for teaching me and showing me it's almost always safe to stick your body into submerged caves. This is a voyage of a lifetime. We're unexpectedly in Jamaica waiting for a part to repair our steering (we'll see you soon @gringoparty13 !) , and while I'd rather be at sea on the way to Belize, the spot we found to anchor is a super cool, beautiful and remote fishing village. There's only one restaurant in town, just a few thatched huts in the surf, and we've loved dining on lobster and whole fish, then hanging out with some of the local guys drinking overproof rum. Before arriving in Jamaica we had both good weather and bad, including some high seas and squalls that made things really fun.
