Saddam Hussein as Sailor John
Here's Saddam Hussein from South Park dressed as Sailor John from Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends. Saddam Hussein was the former president and dictator of Iraq from July 1979 to April 2003. He first appeared in South Park in the Season Two episode, "Terrance and Phillip in Not Without My Anus". Shortly before the American-Canadian War, Hussein was killed by a pack of wild boars and became Satan's jealous, emotionally abusive, and manipulative boyfriend (and later ex-boyfriend). Hussein was a recurring character in South Park, and the main antagonist of the movie, South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut. Sailor John is the main antagonist of the 2015 Thomas & Friends special, Sodor's Legend of the Lost Treasure. He is a former navy officer turned pirate, the former owner of Skiff, and the archenemy of Thomas.
Here is a little musical preview for the upcoming chapter of OFD. This song will be featured in chapter 61, so if you want to prepare FULLY for this next chapter, give this song a listen. :)

I had to give Merlock and Sailor John a go. It wouldn’t leave me alone.

t's frickin DONNNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE So fella's - here's the one I've timelapsed Lemme get on fixing the video together! Ok so I was after 'poetic' here- whadda we got? Well the basic premise is - everyone's tied here. Sailor John is the 'puppet master' in a way - it's him that eventually drives the fates of Skiff and Captain. But those two themselves? Red string - the red string of fate is said to be tied between two people that are destined to meet. But they wouldn't have if it wasn't for Sailor John. You see - strings everywhere Well, I'm happy with it I know it won't get a lot of attention but what's important is that I had fun. Anyone that does watch the speedpaint once that's finished - hope you enjoy my process! And yes, obviously Skiff lives - this is related to: www.deviantart.com/butterfrogm… Sailor John, Skiff and Captain (c) TTTE/Thomas The Tank Engine
Huh?
Aren't you supposed to be in jail over grand larceny and other things?
For all you OFD nerds out there (and lovers of Sailor John!), here is a link to a great episode of BBC History Magazine’s ‘History Extra’ podcast, on the ‘The uncommon lives of common sailors,’ with Stephen Taylor, author of this book. I love history podcasts but my sister recommended this episode in particular to me this summer (because of the subject matter) and I finally had a chance to listen to it this morning.
It made me feel pleasantly smug because it affirmed a lot of the historical background I’ve already put into the story, but also had some great historical details i had not heard about (like the Spithead Mutiny of 1797!) and some fantastic details from diaries and memoirs from the lives of actual sailors.
Anyways, if you want to nerd out on OFD/age of sail history, I highly recommend!
