John wakes up an hour early every day to prepare Gale some eggs, otherwise he would not eat breakfast before work

He absolutely does get up before gale and I totally see John having really bad sleep hygiene too . He can probably fall asleep anywhere pretty quickly but staying asleep is almost fanciful like he will wake up at 2 am then 4: 30 am by which point he’s just getting up and making Gale breakfast makes it less annoying .
I think gales a pretty good sleeper like goes to sleep at the same time every night and wakes up at the same time every morning.
Sooo I think John is mostly up the hour before gales alarm goes and he tries to be as quiet as possible and maybe he gets something really slow going on the stove like oats and he’ll make coffee but he’ll boil water on the stove instead of the kettle( maybe he prefers instant to filter coffee) because it’s too loud and he doesn’t want to wake Gale .
Closer to gales alarm though I totally see him putting coffee in their little machine so Gale can smell it when he’s waking up , along with the oat meal and the eggs and he probably makes a little fruit salad ( i cried once bc I saw this fruit salad on Pinterest and thought John would make it for Gale so 🫡) he probably arranges it all on a little tray and he probably gets really into collecting sweet little dishes for this purpose ( making Gale an unobtrusive breakfast tray with lots of tiny little elements that won’t overwhelm him )
He probably also considers it a triumph he’s gotten Gale to do real maple syrup in his coffee as opposed to pure sugar it also kind of tastes better and Gale looks forward to it but he does have his morning coffee black besides the maple syrup.
John’s knocking himself out doing things like :

yeah he’s totally poaching a pear gales got a sweet tooth so I think a mix of savory and sweet for breakfast would suit him but maybe John also gets into make Japanese style breakfast as well because he simply is never doing anything by halves when it comes to Gale :
So he’s doing all this in that hour before and wow look how useful he’s being and look how he’s turning his terrible sleep hygiene into something good !
( also Gale noting how happy it makes John and how much less antsy he is about the fact he can’t sleep properly because he’s making something good out of it and Gale never directly requests anything but some days he’s like “ hey Bucky do we have any ‘ item’ left” and Bucky will know what he wants in the morning and be so so chuffed about it
