Edinburgh Cathedral, more commonly called High Kirk of Edinburgh. Its most characteristic element is its crown-shaped dome. t is considered the mother church of Presbyterianism and the Church of Scotland. The current church dates from the end of the 14th century.
During the Scottish Reformation, its Protestant leader John Knox was elected Minister of St. Giles by the City of Edinburgh and declared as such on July 7, 1559. A bronze statue carved in 1904 from Knox, is currently in the hallway north of the temple.
