Hi! May I have a Marvel ship? I’m 4'11" with (dyed) red hair and blue eyes. I like video games, music, and writing. I’m a shy and modest person who suffers from anxiety but others consider me cute and charming. While I’m introverted and tend to brood, I love very deeply and a desire of mine is to understand and be a safe place for people that are hurting. I’m extremely loyal and don’t fear the dark sides of others because I’ve been there. I hate drama and prefer the chill hoodie lifestyle! <3
Hi love,
I ship you with Tony Stark
Tony met you at one of his big party. Honestly you would have rather stayed at home chilling in an oversized hoodie reading but your friend really wanted to go and promised to accompany her. Now, as soon as you arrived she disappeared with a drink in her hand and a handsome guy at her side. You were really anxious with all of those people around you and started to feel an anxiety attack building up. That's when Tony appeared. He asked if you were all right because you looked really pale. Sighing you shook yoir head and he took you outside, saying that maybe the fresh air would help. You ended up totally opening up to each other. Tony enjoyed letting his guard down for a few hours and appreciated that how understanding you are. He, too, found you cute and charming so he asked for your number and the rest is history.
+He acknowledges that you are more comfortable staying in than going to party, so at most of your dates he orders in and the two of you play video games until you're bored with it. (which is not really soon but hey, both of you are having fun).
SISTER CIRCLE I’m up to something BIG. Announcement on @SisterCircleTV Live @ 12PM EST. #Crown. #SAINTMILES (at Atlanta, Georgia) https://www.instagram.com/p/B2OdbViJoRD/?igshid=5a192kry8vgp
(Sliding into your ask box again lol) I never got the feeling that they had an 'unspoken agreement' and the way Arthur asks her to leave just seemed 100% OOC. As someone whose been in VERY similar relationships, it would have been more empowering if the (already very progressive for his time) Arthur stopped her and said, "Okay. I want you to tell me straight up: do you want me to come with you?" And have a VERY FRANK discussion about why he can't do shit if she doesn't even know WTH she wants.
Howdy again!
I feel a lot of it comes down to neither of them knowing what they truly want, more so Mary imo. There's some serious cherry picking going on in that relationship and even if they tried to hash things out, trying to decide where they wanted things to go, it wouldn't end with much progress beyond what they ended up with.
Overall I'm still of the mind that they were never really meant to work out and that's just the sad truth of it tbh. And that's the way with life sometimes that relationships just..... don't and/or can't work out. Especially when there's a giant ass question mark regarding what they want to even happen.
That relationship was just up shit creek without a paddle and Mary was knockin holes in the boat while they were at it
(I feel weird messaging you so much but you're the chillest RDR2 fan I've stumbled across SO) I feel the same way about Mary as you feel about Dutch. I'm sure she's nice and I wanna like her for Arthur's sake but the moment she pulled that 'You know I still think about you' crap my 'manipulate-o-meter' went off so loud I was instantly like, "AIGHT BITCH WHAT." I have zero (0) tolerance for that shit, honestly. Can I drag Arthur out of this hell and into a warm embrace, please?
Oh man, it’s no worries, I’m glad to answer asks and I’m glad you feel I’m super chill! I like to think I’m a pretty chill dude so getting that confirmation is A+, thank ya kindly
As for Mary, I FEEL that. It’s pretty clear that she does just use Arthur to do her dirty work and that any notion of feelings she might’ve had are more ideals than they are reality at this point (or, hell, it was probably like that at the start too). She knows Arthur is stupidly in love with her and really exploits that whether she realizes it fully or not. Even worse, I feel like it’s hard to make Arthur tell her no too because you can just SEE how damn soft he is on her like just look at the way he looks at her and talks to her
That is the look of a man so deep in his love that he doesn’t know which way is up. Arthur “not giving many shits for manners” Morgan TOOK HIS GOTDANG HAT OFF JUST TO TALK TO HER.
And what does she repay him with after he agrees to help save her brother and actually stops him from being involved in some turtle cult/saving him from straight up killing himself?
“Oh, Arthur. You’ll never change.”
Nah, Mary. You’re the one that’ll never change and never stop manipulating Arthur to deal with your messed up family. She only came sniffing around again in Arthur’s life once her husband passed. And I get Arthur lives the kind of life any self-preserving person would want to avoid, and that obviously includes Mary, but I do not doubt Arthur would give up the world for her if she asked.
ALSO just wanna point out that Arthur put a little “A♡M” in his journal after her first mission. Just to really, y’know.... drive home how disgustingly in love with Mary he is lol
Both of us finally get around to writing some cowboy lovin' and Tumblr decides that fun and fuckin' a soft sweaty man in the woods is illegal, apparently. Yee-motherfuckin-haw, ya'll. I can't imagine what will happen to innocent LGBT content, since 'purges' of this nature really like to target us for basically no reason. GDI. (Not that I have any faith in the, uhm, 'tumblr algorithm' or whatever it is).
APPARENTLY he is illegal as hell. And tbh I’m even more worried about those that are spreading information about sexualities and positivity regarding those subjects being dragged down and utterly shoved under the bus. Staff preaches all day long that they wanna keep that stuff intact, but with the system as flawed as it already is (and from the last purge where many lgbt tags got nixed) HMMMMMMMMMM
Hola! I was wondering if I could ask how you characterize/write Arthur Morgan personally? I really love the soft cowman and want to write things for him, but I have to live vicariously through other peoples playthroughs on YouTube cause I don't got no XBox or Playstation, and I feel like I'm missing out on some of his character traits/backstory. Sorry if this is a heady question and you def. don't have to answer. Thank you! <3
Howdy! Flattered you’re asking me about this tbh!
Bit of a disclaimer here, I’m going by what I know of the high honor side of the game, which shapes Arthur into being a much kinder character overall. I wholly believe that the game was built with higher honor in mind as it fits into Arthur’s personality as well as his character arc with the gang slowly falling apart. Not to mention his sickness that draws him into a more humble and contemplative mindset, the high honor plays into that and fuels it.
There’s some pretty heavy spoilers so fair warning!
Far as characterization for Arthur, from what I understand of his character, he’s a man that holds a lot of care and sympathy but he’s been conditioned in a harsh world to push it back and hide it under a lot of disinterest and apathy. Especially with the life he lives/has lived, it practically demands that he’s rough in all that he does. But the much more sympathetic side of him can’t help but shine through in the little things he does for certain folk.
Reading his journal can also give you the insight into his mind that really backs up the whole “soft interior, rough exterior” vibe his character has. Many of the things he contemplates in his journal are seen through the eyes of a man that wants goodness to prevail in the world but he sees that a lot of bad things have to happen for that goodness to happen in certain aspects. That killing and robbing is a means to an end of happiness for himself and those he cares about, but it’s not something he really revels in and avoiding needless death is something he values pretty dearly.
This is really highlighted especially in the later missions of the game where he tries so hard to make sure so many of the gang get out alive and happy. Mostly in regards to John, Tilly, Abigail, Jack, Sadie, etc, he tries so damn hard to personally see that they get out of the crumbling gang alive and well. There was also his rage at Strauss for the debt collecting and syphoning what money and stability from poorer folks that didn’t need the gang stealing back what little they had in the first place.
I might be going off on a tangent here, but all of this just goes to show that Arthur really has too much care in his heart for the life he leads. So when writing him, he will always have that front of disinterest and apathy when really, it couldn’t be farther from the truth. Sometimes he needs good people around him to remind him that’s not who he really is, which usually came in the form of either John, Charles, and even Rain Falls.
Also Rain Falls is a whole other can of worms that I could write a million more paragraphs on with how he was in Arthur’s life for such a small span of time, but Arthur ended up holding him in such a high and respectful regard for so many reasons. To the point that he both verbally confirmed his utter respect for the man as well as, even in more detail in his journal, how he really held a lot of appreciation for the kind of man Rain Falls was.
It showed that Arthur, ultimately, holds a reverence for honorable goodness that Rain Falls represented, the way the chief wanted to prevail through peace that Arthur seemed to find he was more encouraging of than he’d want anyone to think.
Arthur likes to enjoy and indulge in the good things in life and to do that, he knew he, unfortunately, had to commit some not so good things to accomplish that. This again goes back to his inner conflict of innate desire to be good and allow goodness to be prevalent in the things he does, with how he needs to be this seemingly cruel outlaw to protect his and his own and being fiercely loyal to them as well as that creed.
TL;DR, because I could honestly go on and on about this: when writing Arthur, there will always be an internal conflict of how he wants to be versus how he needs to be. Happiness and safety is always at the forefront of his mind, mostly for those he cares about and those he finds that aren’t so fortunate to achieve it themselves. It mostly depends on who he’s interacting with how much those lines between Outlaw Arthur Morgan and True Arthur Morgan are blurred or defined. Overall, though, it’s a loyalty to who and what he cherishes that angles a lot of his motivations, so it can be pretty situational what is driving him to act between those clear dichotomies.
I’m not even…. sure I properly answered this ask but I hope that gave you some insight!!
