...-sigh- Okay I think it’s time I tackled this one.
I’ve been sort of debating with myself for awhile on this one, and how I should handle these series of messages.
Undertale is a really fun game and I adore Papyrus and Sans. I certainly don’t mind them making a cameo every so often, but to have them officially join the group? That’s probably not going to happen. Don’t worry, I’ll explain myself.
This has been kind of a problem since the beginning, but I’ve always been hesitant about adding new “boneheads“ to the group for a number of reasons.
First and foremost, I don’t want to start adding new members because I’m worried the comics will start to lose focus. Keep in mind that I focus on 6 different characters at a time, all of which I need to keep characterization in mind while adding my own little touches here and there. If I just started adding new characters all willy nilly, it might get a little too crowded.
The 2nd reason, is that this has the risk of opening the floodgates of people sending requests on who they think should be in the group and why. Again, I’m fine with cameos - in fact there’s a few that I have planned that I’ll be getting to soon. However, there’s just some characters I can’t do justice to in a more comedic or slice-of-life setting on a regular basis.
At least when people do ask about this, they’re very polite about it. That’s what I appreciate the most about these kinds of messages. I sort have always feared that people will get carried away and start demanding that I add new characters. So whenever I see that the message is just an idea of what to do with the characters, or again, just a polite request, I feel more at ease.
So to those of you who sent in requests for new members, thank you for being so polite about it. However, I think the closest thing you’re going to get is a cameo of the characters every now and again. Especially Papyrus and Sans. I don’t know how it happened, but requests for them have become more frequent than cameo requests for Grim. XD;
