Chiyo’s life had always been strange. While her family had been nothing but kind and caring, they were burdened with a task: caring for a mute child. Through out most of her years, she had been picked on, made fun of, and list many friendships due to not being able to communicate properly, and it had taken a toll on the girl’s spirit. There were times where she thought the world was better off without someone like her, and the depression only grew more and more as she got older. It wasn’t until she had met a small child, barely above the age of eight that her life changed. He was deaf, and seeing so much determination and strength in such a small child was enough to bring her out of her rut. Since then she has tried her best to help as many people like herself as she could, starting with a career teaching speech and hearing impaired children ASL. She applied to school, and is well on her way to helping as many people as she can. Her roommate is Alice Kirkland.
