Party on a Pizza Looking for ways to avoid takeout and added sugar? Here’s a twist on cheese pizza the whole family will love.

Serves 12 Prep Time: 25 minutes Cook Time: 10 minutes INGREDIENTS: 1 (12 oz). pre-made thin pizza crust 4 slices prosciutto, torn Goat Cheese Topping 2/3 cup sundried tomatoes, chopped 4 ounces soft goat cheese 1 tablespoon SPLENDA® Naturals Stevia Sweetener 2 tablespoons olive oil Fig Topping 1 cup dried figs, halved 1 cup water, divided 1 tablespoon SPLENDA® Naturals Stevia Sweetener 1 tablespoon olive oil 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice Salad Topping 3 cups arugula, chopped 1 teaspoon lemon juice 1 teaspoon olive oil Salt and pepper to taste  DIRECTIONS: 1. Preheat oven to 450°F. 2. Mix goat cheese topping ingredients together in a small mixing bowl. Set aside. 3. Puree figs in a food processor 30-40 seconds. Add half of the water and process until smooth. Spoon figs into a medium size sauce pan. Add remaining water. Cook over low heat, simmering 1-2 minutes. Add SPLENDA® Naturals Stevia Sweetener, olive oil and lemon juice. Whisk together until well mixed. Remove from heat and cool. 4. Place pizza crust on baking sheet and spread goat cheese topping onto the crust. Bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes or until crust is crisping and cheese is hot. 5. Remove pizza from oven, and place the torn pieces of prosciutto on top. Spoon desired amount of fig topping over pizza. Reserve any remaining fig topping for a later use.  6. Toss salad ingredients together and place on top of pizza. Slice and serve. Enjoy the flavors of a traditional pizza in a lighter, salad-like form with this vegan pesto flatbread pizza salad. It's quick to prepare and bursting with fresh, vibrant flavors that will satisfy your cravings in just 15 minutes!

Ingredients: 1 vegan flatbread. 2 tablespoons vegan pesto sauce. 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved. 1/2 cup sliced black olives. 1/4 cup chopped red onion. 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil leaves. 2 tablespoons balsamic glaze.

Instructions: Preheat oven to 400F 200C. Spread vegan pesto sauce evenly over the flatbread. Arrange cherry tomatoes, black olives, and red onion on top of the pesto. Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the flatbread is crisp and the toppings are heated through. Remove from oven and sprinkle chopped fresh basil leaves over the pizza. Drizzle with balsamic glaze before serving.

There’s many things I can’t get while living in Cuba (check out my @havana.diaries about my Cuban adventures) and that’s perfectly fine - you just adjust and eat what is available. But that’s why I enjoy even more all the “specialty” foods when I come back home to LA or to Slovakia. Like for example delicious Salad pizza from Abbot’s pizza company on Abbot Kinney blvd in Venice! Once you try it and you become addicted! So I went to get one straight from the LAX airport with my friend Rita. Actually, the vision of eating this salad pizza made me survive the whole “culinary experience” during my 6 hours long Havana - Los Angeles flight. Don’t even get me started on the fact, how many airlines stopped serving free food even on the longer flights, so people in order to save some bucks pack on their smelly cheeses, and other foods inappropriate to be open in a place without ventilation so the plane was smelling at some points worse than a toilet being held hostage by a person with a bad diarrhea. Seriously, airlines, just charge those 10-15 dollars more for the plane ticket and give everyone “safe” airline food options thats smell doesn’t kill fellow passengers.
