This is so long overdue. This is my fire ho, Salem Coventry, or Pyra to her friends.
I have a bit of a story for her. In the beginning, she actually wasn’t mine. A friend of mine my sophomore year created 3 characters based off herself, another friend of ours, and me for a zombie apocalypse comic, which later she lost inspiration for. Each character became owned by the person they were based off of.
Though I’ve developed her a lot more over the years, and she holds a high rank amongst my tides of OCs, she’s the one who still has the biggest question mark as far as her backstory goes. I could tell you her likes and dislikes, favorite foods, music, and how many languages she can fluently swear in. But I do know, her real name isn’t Salem. I don’t know what it is. I don’t know where she came from. She has no family, but I don’t know why. I don’t know if she ever had any siblings. I don’t know if even she remembers her real name.
Salem quickly became very near and dear to my heart, and a lot of people who have OCs know, they have lives of their own and they tell you about themselves on their own terms. Salem likes to hold her past close, but I still love her dearly. Frankly, it’s a gODDAMN crime it’s taken me this long to give her a fully rendered drawing. As far as art goes, she actually does come out to play fairly often, but generally not to the end of the piece. I have a ton of WIPs for her, but this is the first one I’ve ever finished and been proud enough of to post.
