He has his back pressed against a firm chest when he stops to admire the gallery wall by the doorway to the living room.
His gaze stops on Tommy's smile. Young, bright. On Sal's smirk, still the same even with the passage of time. On a young woman's smile, Gina he assumes, beaming, her arms around the two young man's shoulders.
They are all wearing formal clothing. Tommy and Sal are wearing suits in matching tones of dark blue, their ties a pale pink to match Gina's long thin-strapped dress with a slit on the side.
"That was at our prom," Tommy speaks in a quiet voice, lips close to Buck's ear, hands roaming up and down his arms. "Sal's aunt took that picture of us," There's a soft tone in his voice and Buck feels himself relax against the strong body behind him. "She was also at the wedding and took that one too."
Buck turns to the picture he gestures towards and his smile widens. Tommy is on Sal's back, his laughter frozen in time, one shoe falling from his foot. Sal has lost his tie and his hair is mussed, his expression fondly exasperated while Gina holds both man's faces and her smile is pressed against Sal's cheek, a flowing white dress stained with green at the bottom.
"You've known each other for so long." Buck comments, unable to look away from the happiness filling the picture.
"I met Sal on the first day of primary school," Tommy tells him, tilting Buck's head towards a picture of two young boys with gaps in their teeth and dirty soccer uniforms, their arms over the other's shoulders. Buck feels warmth all over his chest at the happiness in the picture. "His aunt dropped him off and he just ran in straight into me. We've been friends ever since."
Buck smiles and takes Tommy's hand in his, feeling him squeeze it in response.
"We both met Gina in highschool," Tommy uses their clutched hands to point out a selfie taken by a polaroid camera framed close to the middle of the gallery. "I was jealous of her at first."
In the picture, Sal and Gina stand in a tight embrace. He is sweaty but happy in a much bigger soccer uniform while she grins excitedly with shiny eyes as she presses her lips to his cheek.
"Yeah?"
Tommy hums. "I was in love with my best friend," He shrugs like it doesn't matter. Maybe it doesn't. Not now. Hindsight and all that. "We fought. I confessed my feelings during our fight and he kissed me. It turned out he was in love with me too," Tommy smiles, looks at the prom picture again. "Gina knew."
"She knew?"
"They weren't subtle," Gina smirks from the doorway, leaning on the frame. "There's only so many times I could have caught them looking longingly at each other before I figured it out."
Her tone is teasing but Tommy laughs, holding out his free hand for her to take. She does so with a soft smile and he pulls her close, lets her kiss his cheek before he does the same.
"But I loved Sal and Sal loved me, it just so happened that Sal loved Tommy too." Gina explains as she runs her fingers along Tommy's temple.
"And you loved me too." Tommy adds with a teasing raise of his eyebrow.
Gina puts on a long-suffering sigh. "We would have never ended up in this situation if I didn't," Her index finger presses on Tommy's nose before her attention turns to Buck, her hand outstretched. "Gina Deluca, I've heard a lot about you."
Buck can't help the blush covering his cheeks, taking her hand into his. "Evan Buckley."
"Should I call you Evan or is that a Tommy exclusive?" She asks with a glint in her eyes, Tommy's head presses against Buck's neck hiding a chuckle.
"Uhm, I-I mean-"
"Come on, G, stop teasing." Tommy asks, pressing a soothing kiss on Buck's neck.
She sighs good-naturedly and squeezes Buck's hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Buck." Her smile is bright and beautiful and he feels like he just ran a mile. She reciprocates his smile.
