I will never understand why people run for office with the intention of forcing their ideals on the masses rather than working to better the state/country overall.
There is a fine line between those two, I understand. But bigotry is not excusable.
How does restricting peoples freedoms on matters of marriage and home life constitute making the world better?
How is homosexuality a huge issue when there’s other problems like gee idunno the continuing widening of the wage gap? The uneven distribution of wealth in the us? The education system? The crippling 18 TRILLION dollars of debt!?!
A person is born into the US with debt of over 50k. If every tax paying person were to have to pay toward our national debt, it would be $50,000+ a pop.
But nah, let’s focus on this specific group here of people that do things I don’t like behind closed doors and literally have no impact on my well being whatsoever than focus on, say, global warming which is, in fact, a very real thing with very real consequences and has yet to have a single study disproving that people have anything to do with it.
Let’s not focus on the failing education system or the welfare leeches (who by the way are not by majority people of color but, in fact, WHITE?!)
Let’s not talk about military spending or the fact that Walmart encourages employees (or at least has at one point) to file for food stamps
Let’s not talk about the fact that 7.25 an hour is NOT a live able wage. Or how tuition continually goes up and teachers continually do not get the raises they deserve.
Nah, let’s talk about how these two guys fucking in the privacy of their own bedroom is a bigger threat to the United States of fucking America than ISIS.
Because the LGBT community has taken more lives than terrorism.
Not like we’re already threatened enough.
