Being one of the few alive people that can come and go from Hotel Cortez is strange, strange in a good way, of course, meaning you can enjoy the outside world but can still go into the hotel to see Sally all the time whenever you want.
Sally is your number one priority in life and during Covid, you had been isolating in Hotel Cortez with her, not because you needed to, but because the pandemic only gave you an excuse to. Sally is your entire world and universe, but there are things you haven't told her because of her possessive side. You have an alive brother and two parents who you used to visit regularly before but because of Covid; you had the excuse, you couldn't. And Sally didn't see the point of you leaving anyway, risking yourself like that during the pandemic, so you stayed cooped up with her for the past year in the comfort of the place you call home. Recently, however, your brother has contacted you telling you how he has been vaccinated and there should be no problem with him visiting you now.
You didn't see how you could explain this to Sally at all, so you told him you were ill, not corona, but ill so you can't visit him, but him being the smartass he is, he managed to track you down and now here you are in the bar of the Cortez, watching your brother talk with the two dead Swedish girls.
"Who is he?" Liz asks as you sip at your drink, you look over at your brother, laughing a little at his ridiculous attempt at flirting
"My brother," you shrug, dipping your finger in your drink before taking it in your mouth.
"Hasn't he seen you yet?" she asks as she wipes down the bar.
"Nope," but then that changes as when he turns his head he almost screams in delight
"Y/N!" he runs up to you, grabbing you by the waist as he picks you up from the stool, spinning you around in circles. "Oh my god it's been so long,"
"You're taller than me now," you joke and he chuckles
"Why didn't you ever want to visit? We've missed you a lot"
You look behind his shoulder to spot Sally leaning against the wall, her arms crossed against her chest with a death glare on her face.
"Oh no," you mumble and your brother turns his head to see what you're looking at.
His expression becomes confused as the blonde with crimped hair comes storming over "Who’s that?" he points his finger at her ever so slightly
Sally wastes no time, grabbing him by the collar of his shirt lifting him from the ground. Your eyes widen at the strength the older woman has until you're brought back to reality when you hear her scream, "Stay away from her, got it?"
He looks so scared at her, bless him. His eyes widen as he waves his hands about defensively. "I'm her brother!"
She drops him back to the ground, pointing her finger at him angrily. "This isn't Alabama, so I suggest you keep your filthy fingers away from her -"
"Sally!" you say putting your hands on her shoulder and she turns her head towards you, "Let him go," she loosens her grip and storms off towards the elevator
"What the fuck was that about Y/N?" he asks in shock
"Stay there a minute," you say as you jog over to the elevator to catch up with her. "Sal-"
"Why didn't you tell me you have a brother?" she asks with tears in her eyes. "I thought we told each other everything! I thought you loved me!
"Sally!" you say bringing your hands to her cheeks to cup them as you gently wipe her tears away, "I do love you, I love you so much, Sally."
"Then why didn't you tell me?"
"I don't know," you take your hands from her face as you begin to pace a little and bring your arms to your side as you think of what to say, "I really don't -" you're cut off when she slams you against the wall of the elevator, her breath hot and heavy on your neck. "Sally," you whimper, your hands gripping her forearm. You feel her flexing her muscles as her fingers trail up your thighs.
"Tell me," she whispers, her tongue gently trailing up your neck leaving a wet trail in its wake. "Tell me you love me,"
"Uhg," a groan leaves your lips when you feel her thigh replacing where her fingers were, pressing against your core roughly, "You know I do" you breathe. You move your hands up to grip her shoulders so you're sitting on her fishnet-clad thigh.
"Then show me," her voice low, her teeth grazing your pulse point before sucking it making you whine loudly, "Undress yourself."
"Anyone can come i-" you start, but you're cut off by her pulling your shirt down and bringing your nipple straight into her mouth before moving to the skin of your breast, sucking it roughly, making sure to mark you.
"Oh, really?" she teases, focusing her attention back to your nipples, her teeth biting down a little but not enough for it to hurt and she looks up at you, you throw your head back, "I sure hope they do," She sucks slowly, flicking her tongue over your hardening bud making you thrust yourself closer. She stops though, standing back up, her hands coming to your neck, "It's more fun that way," You wrap your arms around her waist when she places her hands on either side of your face as she kisses you again, "Now are you going to be a good girl for me and-"
You don't let her finish, you hold onto her arms and spin yourself around until her back slams against the wall instead, "That's more like it," she groans, as you lower yourself down onto your knees, lifting one of her legs onto your shoulder. She grabs a fistful of your hair, the other hand bunching her dress up above her hips before pushing you closer to her core, but you pull back making her whine as you pepper kisses up her toned thighs. "Y/N," her breath hitches when you grip her hips with one hand before using the other elsewhere. Your fingers gently spreading her open, milking in how wet she already is, you groan inwardly before dipping your tongue over her glistening cunt, gliding it up her slit wanting to get a taste.
Sally squirms above you, wiggling her hips as you're only pressing your tongue gently to her, not even close to her clit yet. "Stop teasing," she growls, her grip tightening in your hair as she pulls you forward, "Just -" You swirl your tongue around her clit rendering her speechless, the only sounds in the elevator are her heavy breathing and the wetness forming around your tongue. "Hm," You bring your chin closer so you can capture her clit in your mouth, sucking on it gently. Your fingers massage her thighs, your nails scratching, leaving red marks in their wake, only spurring the blonde further, closer to her orgasm.
Two minutes later, the unoccupied hand that isn't tightly gripped in your hair smacks onto the wall and her back slides down ever so slightly as she begins to lose her balance, her knees becoming weak. "You close?" you look up at her through hooded eyes, her face scrunches up as she growls. "So delicious." you savour every single drop that drips out her center, almost slurping it up hungrily as she reaches her peak.
"Fuck," her mouth drops, her breathing becoming heavier, her hips buck wildly on your face, sliding up and down your chin, covering you in her juices. She thrashes against your face as she reaches her high, almost growling in an animalistic way as she finishes. She pulls you up by your soaked chin to kiss you, getting a taste of herself in the process. "Hm, delicious," she chuckles lowly, biting her lip.
You waste no time in ridding yourself of your jeans and underwear, Sally grabbing you by your throat up against the wall until you return to one of your favourite seats, the muscles in her leg tensing as she pushes you down from your hips to give more friction.
Her lips come back to your neck, peppering kisses up to your earlobe before taking it in, "Grind," she's still breathless from her own orgasm, that only spurring you on further as her breath tickles your jaw.
"Sally," you slowly buck your hips and with the help of her hands, you find yourself already set at a steady pace. You can feel your wetness coating over her thigh as you grind yourself down on her. Your nails scratch up and down her back as you feel yourself already getting close.
"You're mine," she says almost sternly, her hand tightening around your throat but not enough to cut your breathing. "Only mine," it comes out more as a sob as she crashes her lips to yours again, taking in the taste of herself once more.
"I'm always yours," you breathe between kisses, your mouth not only now tasting of Sally but cigarette smoke, "Always," the tightness in your stomach about to snap now, you're rutting yourself pathetically against her thigh until you come.
Breathlessly you bring your hands from her back to her face cupping her cheeks, watching as her eyes swell up with tears. You press a gentle kiss to her lips as a tear bobbles down her cheeks, "I love you, Sally,"

Walking down a narrow pathway, you realise this was a mistake. You shouldn't be here. It's only hurting you further, the fact she is no longer with you. You haven't visited her grave in almost six months, so today, after speaking with your therapist about it, you decide it's time to. On the way here, however, you bumped into your friend. It pissed her you're coming here. She's worried you're going to do something stupid, but you're not. You just want to talk to her. You just want to talk to Sally.
You kneel down beside the flat slab of concrete where Sally is resting. Neither you nor Sally's family could afford a different headstone. Something good enough for her. It's not like they care, anyway. Sally's family are just too far up their own asses to even care about their low life junkie daughter. You place a single oxeye daisy, Sally's favourite flower, down on the damp earth and sit on the concrete path beside it. The wind blowing in your face; the coolness sending shivers down your spine. You hate being at places like this.
Taking a deep breath, you try to summon up the courage to speak, but nothing comes out. Only a shaky exhale. You bring your knees up, tucking them closer to your chest as you look down at the concrete stone "Sally McKenna December 17th 1964 - August 25th 1994"
"It's Monday, May 8th 1995. You've been gone for eight months and eleven days and I still miss you so fucking much," You whisper to nothing as you sit there, the sun shining through the leaves of the trees as if making a little spotlight around you. As if she's there with you right now. But you know she's not. That's not how this works. She's gone. "I got my first 28 days sobriety badge last week," you say after a moment, bringing your knees back down to make yourself a bit more comfortable. "You know like we always talked about." a small smile graces your lips and your fingers begin twitching as you're in desperate need of a cigarette. "You were so excited for me to finally work on that part of me, even though you didn't." your smile turns to an immediate frown and you run your fingers through your hair before grabbing your bag and pulling out your packet of cigarettes and your stupid cellphone. You eye it as you press a button, rolling your eyes when you see a text from the friend you bumped into earlier. The antenna looks like it's going to break even though it's only a few months old, you should really look after your stuff more often. Seeing the SMS from your friend takes your mind back to only less than an hour ago. "You know when I drove here, I drove past that hotel." your hands shake slightly as you pull a cig from the carton. "The hotel where your body was found," you then squint your face at the ridiculous thing you said. Of course, she would know what hotel you're talking about. If she could hear you anyway. You take a drag of the cigarette after lighting it up, the smoke filling your lungs as if it's drowning you, "And I just cried." you say as you're blowing the smoke back out. It burning your throat. Not only that, it feels like there's a rock stuck in your throat and it's hurting to even breathe. Maybe it's the fault of the cigarette. Maybe not. "The first time I cried since the day I found out."
Moments pass as you picture Sally in your mind. Her beautiful frizzy hair that she would crimp every so often, bouncing around as she dances to the music you enjoy listening to. "You'll always be that blonde girl, who always made me doubt. You're so much older than me and you're everything that I'm insecure about." Sally was, is the most beautiful woman you've ever laid your eyes on. Back when you were together you always doubted she could love you, especially since you were a lot younger, you always thought she'd end up leaving you for someone more mature. But no. She loved you. You know that. Sometimes it's just hard to believe it, considering what happened.
Thinking back to what happened and the arguments that had led up to you splitting up just before her death makes your heart sink into the bottomless pit of your chest. A lot of things had happened in the build-up but it always came back to that fucking hotel. Sally wouldn't tell you what had happened when she left other than she cheated on you. You got mad, of course. But there was something else that was traumatising her in a way you couldn't understand. That's when she started using more heavily than before. She kicked you out and you had to stay with your friends. "I bumped into one of my old friends on the way here. When I told her I was coming here she... she's just getting tired of hearing how much I miss you." you sniff. Were you crying? You bring your hand to your eyes but they're still dry. "I know they feel sorry for me and she didn't want me coming here to trigger anything. I understand though. They don't want to lose me the way I lost you." There has been this urge nibbling away under your skin, itching away and maybe you are triggered. But you're okay now right?
You think it's time to go, you're feeling uncomfortable and fidgety and irritated. You get up from the floor quickly rush back to your car. That's when it hits you. You can't do this without her. Even with her own struggles, she was trying to be so supportive of you, giving you the space and everything you need. But all you did was push, push, push. You feel your chest tightening as a silent sob wracks through your body. The pain of what happened hitting you more now than it had ever. "Sally." you whimper as you hit your head down off the steering wheel. "I can't imagine how I'm supposed to be okay now that you're gone." You turn your head to the right as you look at the glove box. You can feel your cheeks becoming wet now, but you tried to fight the tears. You sit up straight slowly as you reach your hand towards it, popping it open. Rummaging through it until you find it. Written on the CD with a black marker pen. "Sally + Y/N 4ever" your tears come to a halt as you hook your player to the car and slid the cd in.
"Y/N what are you doing?" The first time you've heard her voice since. The raspiness from the number of cigarettes she would smoke, only adds to how erotic it sounds. "I'm literally in the recording studio you don't need to do that." she chuckles and your chin quivers as you wipe your eyes again.
"This is for my personal collection, baby." you hear your own voice and you laugh. God, do I really sound like that?
"Okay, only because I love you,"
"So what's this then?"
"A song I wrote about a very special girl of mine called "Forever'" You ejected the disc immediately, you can't listen to that now. You squeeze your eyes shut.
"I guess you didn't mean what you wrote in that song about me." You whimper to nothing, just hoping Sally could hear you. "You said forever. Now you're here buried under my feet."
-
Driving back home you reach a red light outside the Cortez. With tear-filled eyes you look up, glancing towards a window. Frizzy blonde hair catches your attention. I think I'm going crazy. You park outside and bring your phone back out of your bag and send a text to your old dealer. Just wanting these feelings to end. He turns up and you give him the cash and you make your way inside the hotel.
"I'd like to book a room," you mumble towards an older lady with big glasses perched on her nose. You glance sideways to see if anyone was watching. The woman, however, was quick to notice.
"No." she sighs, "We have no rooms available."
"Now don't be like that, Iris. We have plenty of rooms here," someone says and grabs your hand before quickly leading you upstairs.
"Here, have this room. Just don't take too long otherwise the addiction demon is going to come for you," the man says quickly before leaving. You fall to the floor, your palms sweaty and you bring out the supplies.
"You shouldn't do this." you hear a voice. You don't lookup. "You were doing so well."
You ignore the voice. It's not her. You untie your boots and get to work on getting everything ready.
"I can't do this anymore," you whimper, tightening your shoelace around your arm before putting the needle into your skin. Wincing, you relish in the pain but also the relief you're feeling as you inject the drug into your system.
Minutes go by, your vision blurring, your head spinning. A figure steps out in front of you, gaining your attention, but you still don't look up, you don't care. You just want to be with her again.
"Y/N," You finally look at her. Even though your vision is blurry, she is the most beautiful woman you've ever laid your eyes on.
You let out a throaty chuckle. "Am I dead?" The blonde crouches down in front of you, a cigarette hanging loosely from her lips as she takes your hand in her own, but hers are cold. So cold.
"No, not yet." her voice breaks as she looks at you. Her eyes watering, steering her mascara down her cheeks.
"Then why are you here?" the words slurring, your head falling to your shoulder as you continue looking at her. The love of your life here, in front of you.
"I've been here this whole time. Stuck in this hotel."
"So you're not dead?"
"No, I am," she nods, looking down at your arm, at the limp needle protruding from your skin.
"Then why can I still hear your voice over all the noise in my head? " you whisper as Sally takes a new needle, you're assuming one of hers and fills it up with the rest of the liquid from the spoon.
"Do you still love me?" she asks, hesitating as she guides the tip of the needle towards your skin but doesn't go any further until you answer.
"Sally, I still love you" your eyes are getting heavy. It feels like it's finally the end. At least you got to see her one last time. "...So much. I know we weren't perfect, but I've never felt this way for anyone. Don't leave me again."
She pushes the needle in, injecting you with the rest of the liquid before wrapping her arms tightly around your body, "Y/N, I'm here. You're safe with me. When I said 'forever' I meant it."

Sally McKenna x Wilhemina Venable x Reader - A little help Pt 4
word count: 4k
warnings: smoking, mention of drugs, hints of smut, cursing, panic attacks, anxiety
A/N: This is an eight-part story, hope you enjoy
Leaving Sally's side for a moment, you make your way over to Wilhemina to find out exactly what her plan is and what she has in mind. ''Mina?'' you ask carefully, knowing this whole situation isn't easy on the redhead either. ''Don't talk me out if it Y/N'' she snaps and turns around, holding a bottle in her hand and some pills.
You stop in your tracks when you hear her call you by your first name because that doesn't usually happen unless she is mad. ''I'm not I just wanted to know what is going on, I'm sorry'' you quietly answer and you suddenly see Wilhemina's features soften a lot and her gaze dropping to the floor.
Suddenly the strong and confident Wilhemina starts faltering because she realizes that this shouldn't happen. You shouldn't be there, you shouldn't worry about their messes and you shouldn't be anywhere near drugs or Sally in this state. Wilhemina knows how traumatizing it can be, remembering what it was like finding Sally in this state once before, years ago.
She reminds herself that you are considerably younger and you have your own things on your plate like university for instance. ''No, it's... it's fine, you should go'' she states and turns around to carry on looking for whatever she is looking for ''No I won't leave now'' you protest, feeling yourself getting angry with Wilhemina now.
''I can handle it'' she states but you know it's not the truth and there is some deeper meaning behind this. ''Wilhemina I won't leave you or Sally alone right now, I am also part of this relationship''.
The redhead pauses and turns around again ''But little one, you shouldn't have to see all this and go through all this'' she tries reasoning with you, despite knowing you wouldn't leave or listen to her when it comes to this. ''If any of you go through something, I will too, we are in this together'' you reply and Wilhemina simply nods and takes a step towards you, lifting your chin slightly.
''Are you sure? this might get ugly and be hard for all of us'' she reassures but you insist. ''Yes I will do anything'' you reply and she hands you a few things like vitamins and a few pillows and blankets.
''Why are we doing this here?'' you ask curiously and she replies ''We can't be sure she has got stuff at home still and I have everything here we need for the night, besides I got everything we might need here, I am always prepared'' she states and you nod and smile a little before making your way towards the blonde again.
''Sally?'' you ask gently after the blonde has just been sitting there, with her eyes closed and taking deep breaths. ''Yes?'' she asks without opening her eyes ''You gotta take these'' you say and drop a few of the vitamins in her palm. Wilhemina approaches next with a bottle of water and some juice, she got out the minibar.
''Here you gotta take these, your body will need something to help fight those drugs'' Wilhemina says and Sally simply takes it and swallows the vitamins, knowing right now there isn't a lot to do or argue about anymore, with the truth out.
''This can be adjusted into a bed'' Wilhemina states and you get Sally to stand up so you can adjust the sofa into something more comfortable. While you make the bed and put the pillows in a position so Sally could get comfortable, the redhead looks at her girlfriend.
''Was it heroin then honey?'' Wilhemina asks softly and Sally simply avoids her gaze and nods, feeling guilty. ''We are here now but this detox has to be the end of the whole drug thing, understand?'' she asks firmly and Sally looks down, nodding slowly understanding how serious this situation and the consequences of her behavior can be and the effects they have on you two.
''Here this should be comfortable'' you say with a confident smile and Sally takes a seat on the sofa, while Wilhemina also sits down, feeling the need to sit down now as her back is still hurting.
You notice Mina's slight flinching so you ask ''Are you still in pain?'' but the redhead shakes her head and you can tell this is a lie and her pushing it away to be there for Sally now and you and to be strong. ''It's nearly 5 pm, are you hungry? have you even eaten today?'' Wilhemina asks and looks at Sally and the blonde thinks about it for a second before shaking her head.
''Okay so in the kitchen we might have some tinned soup or something'' Wilhemina says but you remember having your car here and a restaurant nearby that you and your girlfriends have often been to. ''How about you rest a bit more Sally and I will drive down to our favorite place and pick up some dinner?'' and for the first time today, you see a little smile making its way onto the blonde's face and Wilhemina also takes notice of that.
''Sounds great little one, need some money?'' but you shake your head. ''The usual?'' you ask and look at them both and they both nod, you take a few steps towards Sally and give her a quick kiss on the cheek, causing her to smile again. ''Be careful little one'' Wilhemina reminds you and you leave her office, still feeling concerned but relieved that Wilhemina now knows and that you aren't alone in this anymore.
While you are gone, Wilhemina uses this situation to have a word with Sally, without you there. ''Sal?'' the redhead asks and the blonde looks up to meet her girlfriend's concerned eyes. ''What happened, tell me'' she encourages only to see Sally's guilty eyes.
''I don't really know-'' Sally starts, now that the drugs have been in her system for a few hours, she seems more aware again and like she isn't in some other dimension, her eyes are still teary and her arms itchy from injecting the heroin though.
''I guess I just couldn't really deal with relapsing the other day and I just needed some more and the only thing they could give me was heroin'' she mumbles the last part, feeling ashamed. ''They? as in your blogger people?'' Wilhemina asks but Sally shakes her head ''Well technically, I met him at a party before, and usually he sells the pills but he also sells stronger stuff'' she explains and Wilhemina inhales sharply.
''I want you to never talk to those people again, to stay away from the drugs and also keep them away from our apartment and girl'' she states and Sally nods, knowing the redhead is right.
Silence fills the room for a moment before Sally breaks it, trailing off and letting her thoughts run freely ''I never wanted to be like them you know'' she says, tears streaming down her cheeks. Wilhemina turns to look at her girlfriend, the sight in front of her, killing her on the inside, knowing exactly what and who she is referring to.
''It's not too late, you aren't like them completely and there is one key difference'' Wilhemina starts and Sally looks at Wilhemina with a bit of hope through teary eyes. ''You still have a chance, if you beat this thing now, and it will be hard I know but if you do, you won't be like them and your life won't lead down that path'' the redhead reassures and the words are slowly sinking into Sally and she is trying to process them.
''But what if I am not strong enough?'' she whispers but Wilhemina grabs her hand ''Listen to me Sally McKenna..'' she starts, cupping her cheeks and keeping eye contact.
''You are one of the strongest people I know, you have successfully beat all your troubles in the past and you have made a name for yourself and I am so proud of you, even if I don't fully understand the blogger world'' she starts and takes a breath before continuing ''If anyone can do this it's you and I promise we will be right by your side and we won't leave. Now it won't be easy, I won't lie to you but if you get through this night with us, it's a big step in the right direction'' Wilhemina explains and Sally can't help but burst into tears.
''Sally, come here'' the redhead whispers and pulls the blonde into a hug, letting her sob into her chest and hold onto her clothes, like the blonde usually would, whenever she is upset. „I'm so sorry" Sally sobs quietly into the redhead's chest.
Wilhemina carefully strokes Sally's hair and untangles some knots before whispering „What for darling? we all have our struggles" but Sally interrupts her „I failed you and Y/N" she announces but Wilhemina pulls away a little and Sally's face closer so the blonde will look at her.
„We all need a little help sometimes dear and I promise we won't leave your side" Mina reassures, knowing how Sally's thoughts can sometimes spiral and play tricks on her minds. „I'm so tired" she starts yawning after a while and Wilhemina ushers her to lie down again and she puts a blanket on Sally. „Sleep until Y/N is back darling" she whispers and places a gentle kiss on the blonde's forehead.
It takes you a lot longer than you intended because getting there was a bit of a struggle with it pouring rain and you getting soaked in the process. After finally making it there, they took ages with your orders because a lot of people were there. It took you over an hour and you started worrying so you practically run into Wilhemina's office after entering just before the last person left Kineros Robotics.
You see Sally asleep on the sofa and Wilhemina standing by the window, her back turned towards you and her overlooking the city. If you could see her face right now you would see the face of a conflicted woman. Part of the usual stern and cold person is thinking to herself the only way Sally can truly be helped would be professional help. Then again she knows her girlfriend and she is well aware that Sally wouldn't do that voluntarily and probably get herself out of rehab or killed in the process. The risk of losing her not just physically but also mentally is too high because Wilhemina knows the only way Sally can do this is with you two even if it means going cold-turkey. The redhead also hates the fact that she has to bring you into this and she wishes she could avoid it, for your wellbeing because she knows seeing someone like this isn't something you can easily forget.
„Y/N that took a while," Mina says while turning around but once she takes a look at you, she can tell why because you are soaked from all the rain and bad weather. „Oh dear," she sighs and quickly makes her way over and takes the bags from your hands, placing them on her desk. „Are you okay?" she asks concerned but you nod and smile „Yeah just some rain, it's a good thing I am not made out of sugar" you joke, trying to lighten the mood and whole situation a little.
„You are sugar" she smiles and you suddenly find yourself blushing a little. „Follow me" Wilhemina states and you do as you are told, leaving the room and watching her lead the way.
The entire office building is now empty with everyone having left when you entered again. Wilhemina leads you past the kitchen and into what you assume to be the bathroom. „Check over there I have spare clothes in there and towels" she explains and you look at her a bit surprised.
„What?" she asks after seeing your reaction „Why do you have three sets of spare clothes and pajamas in here?" you ask a bit dumbfounded after taking a look. „Well I ought to be prepared," she says and you chuckle while taking off the soaked clothes and putting them on the heater.
„Ought to be prepared? how does that explain three sets of spare clothes and pajamas?" you question. Just as Wilhemina opens her mouth to form a reply, the two of you can hear Sally in Mina's office.
„Y/N? Wilhemina?" she calls out. Instantly you and Wilhemina make your way over there, just to see her sitting up on the sofa that you adjusted into a bed, looking around the room a bit confused. „It's okay I'm back now Sally," you tell her.
As soon as she sees you and Wilhemina she seems calmer and you can see her breathing out. „Why are you in pajamas?" she asks a bit confused and you chuckle and reply „Well miss organized over here, thinks it's necessary to keep three sets of spare clothes and pajamas in here, in our sizes I might add" you mock and Wilhemina simply gives you a glare, before walking over to the bags with food. „Let's eat before this get's cold," she says
''Sally would you also like to change your clothes?'' you ask, giving her a comforting smile and she nods. You walk over to the bathroom to get the pajamas in her size and you help her change. As you change her top, you try and avoid looking at the holes in her arms or the bruises because it breaks your heart and causes you to feel a tight feeling in your chest.
You and Wilhemina start eating, after having not eaten almost all day, Sally being the main priority. You remind yourself to stop scoffing the food down and to take it slow but you suddenly notice Sally not even taking a bite of her favorite. ''Sally are you not hungry?'' you ask worried and the blonde simply shakes her head. You look at Wilhemina, a bit helpless not really sure what to say or do exactly because you only want what's best and you wouldn't want to do anything wrong.
''I- Darling you have to eat'' Wilhemina reminds the blonde but Sally simply looks down. ''What's wrong Sally?'' you ask, feeling like this isn't just her not being hungry but also something else. What neither of you two know right now is the little battle the blonde is fighting in her head. Part of her truly doesn't feel hungry but the other part, the darker part, hidden deep within her soul, is telling her that she is a mess and that she doesn't deserve to eat or your kindness for that matter.
''I-Sally what's going on?'' you ask again, not wanting to push her too much but just genuinely being concerned. ''I don't feel like eating'' she says, avoiding your gaze but Wilhemina isn't having any of this, knowing how important it is in this process to stay hydrated and fed.
''Come on McKenna take a few bites for me'' Wilhemina says with a smirk and Sally ends up listening, to your surprise. Maybe realizing that neither of you will let this go, maybe the fact Wilhemina told her, or just the fact the battle within her soul are two sides. The dark side, not caring about the drugs or falling apart, and the bright Sally, not wanting to follow her parent's footsteps and actually making a difference.
In the end, you feed Sally and she manages to eat most of her food and have some more water. Wilhemina gives her a painkiller before Sally goes to sleep again, knowing the nights tend to be the worst. ''Thank you'' Sally mumbles as you tuck her in, while Wilhemina takes the empty food containers into the kitchen. ''What for?'' you ask but Sally doesn't reply, she simply gives you a little smile, before turning around and sleeps quickly consuming her tired and exhausted body.
Wilhemina returns also in some other, more comfortable clothes and by her posture and how she walks in and closes the door, you can tell she is in a lot of pain despite her medication. Walking closer, you softly put your arms around her waist and you whisper ''Mina? did the painkillers not work?''.
Wilhemina closes her eyes and takes a deep breath, taking care and worrying about Sally all day plus all the work before you two arrived, mixed with her back pains are really making it hard for Wilhemina to pretend to be fine like she usually does and hide her true feelings.
''I think you should also lie down Mina'' you encourage her and she turns around to look at you. ''What about you?'' she asks but you shake your head and point to the sofa bed ''There is only space for one more and I can sleep on the floor later'' and if Wilhemina's back wasn't in this much pain, she would be stubborn and insist to let you sleep there but she internally knows she really does need to rest, otherwise her back pains will haunt her and keep her up for the next few weeks.
''We can take turns'' she announces and you simply smile and nod, although deep down you would never wake her up to take turns and rather sleep on the floor. ''Could I use your computer for a while to log into my cloud? I need to check my thesis and assignments'' you explain and Wilhemina nods.
''Of course little one, just don't stay up too late and get some rest okay?'' she reassures and you nod before she places a gentle kiss on your cheek. ''Sleep well Mina'' you whisper and you watch her lie down next to Sally, sleep quickly consuming her as well after this tiring day.
Technically, you should also be asleep right now, after being awake since the early hours of this morning and being at uni as well. There are multiple reasons you don't want to sleep, first of all, you worry about both of your girlfriends. Obviously, Sally's state is concerning and causing this anxious feeling inside your chest but your redhead girlfriend is also worrying you, knowing she is hiding her pains and pretending they aren't as bad as you keep making them out to be. At the same time, university is stressing you out yet again, because today was a day you needed desperately to finish your thesis even though the deadline isn't for a few weeks but you always being so utterly prepared and planning every aspect you are freaking yourself out.
Ultimately, you end up sitting at Wilhemina's computer for hours, occasionally checking the time and with each hour passing, giving up on the idea of sleep overall. Checking your university schedule, you notice that you don't actually have a lot more classes left, just some within the next two weeks where your thesis is due to be handled it and with that you will finally have some time off and time to properly think about what to do after this and where to apply. The hours seem to pass like seconds and before you know it, you managed to get another couple thousand words added to the large document that is filled with your work from the past few months and years ultimately.
About half an hour ago, you decided it's time for some coffee so you walked to the kitchen to make some, but you being so deeply focused on your work and distracted by all the thoughts in your brain, you completely abandon the now cold mug on Wilhemina's desk. With each minute you feel your eyes feeling heavier and your body slowly making its way forward and leaning onto Wilhemina's desk. Sleep seems inevitable at this point and your body and mind are screaming at you, to finally give in and accept sleep. Just as you lean your head on the desk, being unable to fight it any longer, a scream makes you jump and causing your eyes to widen and looking around the dark office.
''Sally, Sally calm down'' Wilhemina tries to calm the blonde down and you are quick to make your way to the light switch, to turn the ceiling lights on because the only light source is currently Mina's computer and you can barely see what is going on. As soon as you can actually see something, you try and keep your eyes open because the light is very bright indeed.
Quickly you walk over to your girlfriends, only to see Sally sit there with an expression that shows she is in excruciating pain. ''What is it?'' you ask, your breathing faster because you are terrified to see her in this state. ''Sally darling what is going on?'' Wilhemina asks, trying to put her glasses on, to actually see what is going on.
''Cramps'' is all Sally is able to mumble before letting her head collapse onto the pillow again, and her holding onto her legs. ''Is this normal Mina?'' you ask, freaking out a little more now.
''Yes I remember from last time, muscle cramps are a side effect'' the redhead informs you and she ushers you to get some cold towels or something to ease Sally's suffering a little. Once you return, you find Sally still lying down but her leg resting on Wilhemina and the redhead trying to massage it a little to relieve her of this pain.
You quickly rush over and as soon as the cold towel comes into contact with the blonde's skin she winces ''It will pass soon darling'' Wilhemina coos and if you weren't so terrified of this whole situation, your heart would melt at their little interactions and seeing Wilhemina so caring and loving with Sally, no sign of her being impatient or mad.
''She's sweating a lot'' you announce after just standing there and observing your girlfriend for a while. ''Can you get some water and some more cold towels?'' Wilhemina asks and you rush into the bathroom and kitchen, without thinking to get those things.
''Thank you'' Mina mumbles as soon as you get back and she gives you a reassuring smile while she hands Sally some water, you put a towel on her forehead gently. ''Cold'' she murmurs and you nod whispering ''I know but I promise it will be okay'' and with you and Wilhemina right by Sally's side, proving to her dark side and thoughts, that she indeed isn't alone and that she will always have someone beside her, she manages to fall asleep with a cold towel on her head, keeping her temperature down and some on her legs to prevent the muscle cramps.
''Little one, you need to sleep, you look exhausted'' Wilhemina whispers and looks at you, her brown eyes staring into your soul and a single crease on her forehead, indicating she is concerned.
''It's okay really, you can sleep I will just sleep on the floor'' you say but the redhead is having none of it. With one motion, she checks the time, noticing it's now 5 am and she props herself up with the support of her cane.
''People will start coming in soon, I am going to get everything ready so I can take work home for the next week and work from there to make sure she is okay'' Wilhemina explains, glancing at Sally now asleep again.
''Okay,'' you nod and finally give in to the idea of sleep because you feel as if you are going to pass out any minute, and your legs giving up.
Wilhemina walks over to her computer to get everything ready, only to see your thesis still open and she notices that you didn't save your work, so she quickly saves it for you, knowing you have just spent hours on this, despite promising to sleep.
While you and Sally are asleep, Wilhemina takes the necessary precautions to be able to work from home, putting the request on her boss's desk and taking all the necessary things she might need. Wilhemina lets you and Sally sleep for as long as possible, getting some clothes ready and her bag already loaded in her car but she has to wake you up about two hours later before people will arrive at Kineros Robotics to work.
''Little ones we gotta get up'' she wakes you up and if you both weren't this sleepy you would melt at the pet name and the fact she called you it both.
