❛ … ah, what do you mean, mr. looker? my TOP FIVES THINGS I LIKE TO SPEND ON MY WEEKENDS doing? well that … may be hard. i would gladly say ‘work’ but since you mentioned this is not an option … … … … … … please forgive me! i truly have NO ACTIVITIES except reading a book and spending time with my companions. aside from these two things, there is nothing else i keep myself ‘occupied’ with, mr. looker. although … speaking with you counts as doing something, right? i do enjoy doing this activity on the weekends. ❜ / @lookerisms .

“Hm...” He pretends to think about it, unable to keep a smile from ruining his perfectly good thinking face. “Yes! I may count for this question.”

But she doesn’t continue to add to the list and the total is less than five. He may be mediocre at mathematics, but addition has never been a problem...and he won’t give her a break just because she’s his boss.

There’s simply no way she can have so few hobbies. In fact, he finds it a little sad that her first thought is work--and that it is not a last-resort answer to fill the fifth slot.

“Ahem... Chief, I hate to point this out, but that is merely three things, not five.” He can’t resist teasing her about it; it isn’t every day he’s presented with the opportunity. He smiles broadly and holds up his index and middle finger. “There are two things yet for you to name.”

And since she seems to be at such a loss, he’ll even try to help her out.

“Come now...! There must be something more you do with your time! Baking? Sewing? Gardening? Games? Puzzles? Hmm... Ah! Or is it that you can think of two more things...but,” his voice turns almost sly, “you are too embarrassed to admit to them...?”

Boy. Company was so rare nowadays that Nanu’s place was just riddled in cat hair. Not to mention the amount of bowls scattered about. Though, because he never expected guests to arrive, he didn’t care for clearing up the place. Just a few cleanups here and there. Mostly for himself. The doors of the more or less deserted police building, a familiar face welcomes him with unwanted nostalgia.

Nanu sighs, scratching the nape of his neck.

Shy? Reserved? Uncertain? Awkward? It would be best not to speak such accusations aloud.

B-But please, you must believe mewhen I say that anyone who would deliberately make you this uncomfortable is not worth even a fraction of your kindness. No matter how many times this happened, N could never get used to it. The sound of his motel room opening by hands that weren’t his. No matter if it was the landlord or the cleaning lady, he always held a vigilant stance that’d only subdue once he identified the person as non-threatening.

The same could be applied to the International Police chief.

While he trusted her and the small bit of bonding they had shared with their abilities, he prayed to Arceus that he wasn’t making a mistake by letting her create a copy of his motel key. Something in his heart told him to trust her, to risk his own safety and coverage just to communicate with her. But he was tense, all because he knew who she was working with. The very same man who had put the Seven Sages behind bars. The one looking for his father...

And probably him as well.

He sighed in relief when he saw her close the door behind her, and he stared at her from the bed, having woken up just a mere minutes ago.

‘‘Anabel. I thought this was the cleaning lady... What brings you here... so early in the morning?’‘

A metallic gleam had glistened from underneath the sands of Melemele. One would have thought that it was a shard from a nearby volcano. In fact, the glass-like gleam would shift in the sunlight. Multiple colors upon black would glisten in iridescence as the weight of the being below would suddenly emerge from its depths.

Before the female’s feet, an array of sharp shards would peek up from the sand. It would rise. Rise. Rise more, until the sudden blackened body of the creature before her would hover before her. Sand dripping from either side of its body, the being’s ‘face’ would direct its attention right at her.

It seemed... very interested in her.

The creature’s claw rose up. Almost with hesitation, and reaches out for the human. Claws opened, it froze in place. Its claw positioned downward, the tip of its razor sharp claw barely close to her chest, as if it were pointing at her heart.

Then, a sudden vibrating buzzed in her head. The ‘face’ of said creature lightened into a bright white, as if to s how that it, too, were alive.

A voice echoed inside of her mind. Not powerful, but not weak, either.

“You. I can feel your air. What is it that humans call you.”

"Looker, I'm grateful you have made it safely!"

That... was a rough go. Looker sighed from exhaustion once back at the station, back from the mission he was sent on. The crogunk at his side made a displeased noise. “Next time, it’ll go on better.” He promised his partner, who nodded in agreement.

It was something to do with the ultra beasts roaming free on Alola and terrorizing unsuspecting people. Except this time, the particular beast got the better of him and almost... well. The cuts and bruises were enough of an understatement. Thank Arceus that Nate wasn’t involved.

Slowly trudging inside, he was surprised to find Anabel still there and awake despite it being night time. “Anabel-”

A soft smile, man was he lucky to have such an amazing partner like her. She was a good sight to see, after such horrible a mission. “I am too, thank you for waiting for me.”

This, of course, depends on the type of sadness.

When Looker is in a low mood, he makes a very serious effortto keep it to himself—and usually he’s very good at it. This is personal andprivate to him. It’s also something he knows can and will change relativelysoon, so it’s not worth being dramatic about. On days like this, he will bequieter than he usually is and focus harder on his work; someone observant whoknows him very well might notice the difference, but if confronted he’ll find away to dismiss their concerns.

If it’s a deeper kindof sorrow, something more serious than just a low mood (overwhelming guilt overpast wrongdoings, relationship breakup, someone he cares about is strugglinghard with something in their life and he feels strong empathy for them), thenhe’ll make that same effort to keep it private but will be much lesssuccessful. It tends to show on his face the most: lined forehead, vaguelytroubled expression. He’s more likely to admit something is wrong whenconfronted because he knows he’s much more transparent, but he’s unlikely toconfide in others and will thank them for their concern before promptly findinga way out of the conversation.

He is a very empathetic person by nature, so things likenatural disasters and fatal car accidents he sees on the news have a way ofputting him in a low mood for a long time. He won’t be able to help but puthimself in the shoes of the victims and he won’t be able to stop thinking aboutit, either. He’s likely to admit to feeling upset at these kinds of things toothers and may be coaxed into talking about it, though there’s not much to sayexcept the fact that he finds it distressingly sad to think about (and can’tdrop focus).

Personal tragedies evoke strong and oftentimes immediatereactions in him. These include things like seeing an associate die in front ofhim, news of the death (or impending death) of a relative/loved one, and thingsthat don’t involve someone dying, like a friend surviving a house fire or floodbut losing everything. In the case of a work tragedy, his reaction would dependentirely on who the other person was. Watching Anabel get shot (injured orkilled) would have an instant, visceral response even if to do so would bedangerous or would jeopardize the mission/his own life (for example: callingout, running to her, going into temporary shock). If the same thing happened toan associate he didn’t know very well, he would be able to control his reaction.In the aftermath of these kinds of events, however, he is a bit of a wreck…andif confronted about it (“What’s the matter?”) may cry openly. Close friendsknow that even if he doesn’t want to talk about what’s bothering him, a hugwill help a lot.

being lost in a whole new region always brought problems and kyouhei did not want more trouble. the little growlithe bounced back and forward as they walked down the beach, nothing more soothing than just the sound of the waves crashing down the soft sand. it didn’t really mattered where he was, as long as he and his team were safe, it was all that mattered. needless was the stress over getting lost, but there was something ticking inside that couldn’t let him rest. there was a sigh, but it was followed by a gasp (trying to reached out for it), it was all happening in an instant and kyouhei couldn’t help but to fall down his knees (ice everywhere, all the warmness of the beach gone and replaced with ice piercing through his skin). ‘ fuck ‘ // @salonmciden.
