so one time I was sitting in the dining hall having breakfast with a friend

and some guy walks up to my friend

my friend looks dismayed yet resigned, and holds his hand out as if to accept some punishment

without saying anything, the guy sprinkles these white granules into my friend's hand

my friend tosses the granules into his mouth and swallows. the guy nods and walks away. neither of them have said a word.

(I later learned it was salt. I sometimes see Salt Guy on campus. "you're Salt Guy!!" I exclaim whenever I see him. he smiles in acknowledgement.)
