Round Table Review - 8.23.14 Laura Veirs and Saltbreakers Laura Veirs’ only album with the backing band Saltbreakers came out back in 2007, but it still catches up to me a few times each year. The singer-songwriter’s nurturing voice blends perfectly into a smooth mix of clean guitar tones and warm synth melodies. With the ever-happy title track, “Saltbreakers” and softer folk tunes like “Cast a Hook,” it’s hard not to feel like the kid fishing from the moon in that Dreamworks logo.
