Day 5 : Bhuj to Ahmedabad via Little Rann of Kutch... We stopped at the Wild Ass sanctuary (to visit my homies) and BONUS!!! we were given a short tour of the process of salt farming in the Kutch region of Gujarat. A process that takes about 7 months, producing approximately 1500 tonnes of salt crystals per field, it is a labour intensive process in one of the harshest climates in the world. the process followed is specific to this region..All to give us one of the primary ingredients for cooking.
