“I don’t think you’re an atheist, I think you’re-”

No. You don’t get to do that. You don’t get to put words in someone’s mouth or force religious labels onto them just because you’re not satisfied with their beliefs or lack of them.

If someone tells you they’re an atheist then that’s what they are; An atheist. Not agnostic, not anything else. Respect it. Stop trying to force religion onto people who don’t want it.

It’s disrespectful, plain and simple. Ignoring what someone tells you about themselves and trying to overwrite it with your own beliefs isn’t just annoying, it shows a complete lack of respect for their boundaries.
