Months had gone by. The chill of later winter fled into spring, and whispered of the warmth of summer coming along. The air was crisp from May showers, bringing renewal and life to all things in the region.
But there had been no word about Temperance since she had left the apartment. Ezio had not seen her, and things were beginning to look bleak for her return.
The skies had an ominous air about them high overhead with the distant crack of thunder awakening senses to the inevitable showers to come. Something was surely upon the horizon.. Something was about to happen.
The sky grew angry with the howls of thunder and the crashes of lightning as the fierce storm rolled in, threatening to strike down anyone foolish enough to be outside in it.
A message would reach Ezio urgently. A single, small female assassin stood drenched to the bone, holding a small note for him to take before she disappeared back into the frightening weather.
Someone had spotted Temperance.
She had been wandering the back streets in a bad neighborhood, looking disoriented and emaciated, shaking violently from the brutal chill that had swept the city earlier that day.
She wore nothing more than a hospital gown, and scrub pants hung about her hips. Her arms were wrapped in dirty medical dressings, primarily around her wrists and wrapped about her bare feet.
