I feel like Sam fans are just the most chill people in the spn fandom (at least, based on the stuff that crosses my dash). Like, they love Sam very very much without bashing Dean or Cas, they don't act like he's never done anything wrong (but they also recognise that the other characters foist the blame on him sometimes), they all agree that Sam is very Queer (and don't get all uppity about "queer is a slur!!1!1"), they're inclusionists, they write very good show-based meta without depending too much on subtext, and they just,, don't generate much discourse? Like, the only Sam discourse I've ever seen has been from Dean fans? Also, they're all multishippers. No ship wars whatsoever. Idk Sam fans are the best, love y'all.

Brother double standards?

So this post got ridic long & I didn’t wanna go off on another tangent on it so I started a new one to open up for discussion.

The gist is the Sam fan says there’s nothing bad 1 bro does to the other that there’s not smth comparable the other did to him & if you think either is worse that’s your fav bro double standard coming out.

My imd reaction is no way, I have a god damn novel to tell ya why Sam’s wrong doings are worse ok...but bc I’m up for civil debate & opposing views I started to think & consider this. 

Sam drinking demon blood for his greater good vs Dean taking on the MOC for his. Sam killing Emma vs Dean killing Amy. Sam is condescending to Dean vs Dean teases Sam & calls him names. Sam’s year off hunting with Amelia vs Dean’s year with Lisa. And all the others I’m leaving out...

My stance is even when the narrative is giving us parallels on shit they do Sam’s actions are normally a lot worse than Dean’s. On all the above I have my reasons why Sam’s side is ‘more wrong’ than Dean’s...but I have an admitted Dean bias. I can sit here & argue how 99% of the time I feel Dean is in the right & Sam is in the wrong but how much of that is from the bias? I mean, my belief that Sam treats Dean worse than Dean treats Sam isn’t changing, I’m not saying that. But I’m curious how much my bias factors into just how much worse I think Sam’s actions are. Like, am I too excusing when Dean is in the wrong bc I figure Sam deserves it? Am I over critical on Sam over the smaller things bc I’m holding the bigger ones against him still? Am I putting more weight on Sam’s wrongs bc I’ve always liked Dean better?

Ok all those questions are on me but my question to the floor is; What do you guys think? Are the bros wrongs to each other comparable? Is one brother worse to the other & if so, why would you say so? Compare & contrast any of the examples I gave or throw out your own.

I’d be interested in civil answers from everyone; Sam fan, bibro, Dean fan, whatever. I’m more curious on a Psych level atm than Dean fan bc Ik my opinions won’t change but I’m curious to all viewpoints bc of the bias thing.

Since you’re one of the very few who has done this off anon I’d seriously love to know why Sam fans feel the need to do this? I’m honestly curious. Like blocking I can understand. I don’t wanna see Dean hater blogs so I block, but it’s never crossed my mind to actaully comment on their post & voice my annoyance that someone dare dislike Dean. 

I’ll leave this open to any Sam fan who does this sorta thing who’d like to answer. No hate, seriously. This isn’t the Dean fan in me asking, it’s the Psych person coming out so I genuinely would be interested to hear the thought process behind this. Does it make you feel better? Do you think you’ll change someone’s opinion on Sam? Are you really bored? Somehting else entirely? My anon is open.

How is it that Jacob has a completely different of fan/fandom than Sam?

They are both good looking guys in their 30s. very talented . But one has a majority very supportive, calm, joyful, fandom who just love/talk about his music and acting ..and Sam has,,, 😦😦👹👹

Hey… not all of us are bad. We get a bad rep. Honestly most of what I see on X are normal fans. A lot of them are Sam fans. All they do is defend Lestat against Lestat haters all day.

I love Sam fans because in my experience literally all they do is joke about his shitty tops and hyperventilate about his proportions and freak out about how kind and gentle and huge he is and sometimes cry because he's been through such shit
