jsdfkds i started this in 2015 and i just fucking finished it 20 minutes ago (i had to change a lot of details bc i updated some character designs) BUT ANYWAY HERE THEY ARE:

The entirety of Glee can gtfo of here because the only Ryan Murphy musical number that will ever matter and the only one worth discussing is Sam McPhearson playing a prostitue in Ms. Bobby Glass’ musical about STDs. The rest of you fakes can skedaddle.

sam is definitely the character who’s gone thru the most changes since i first started writing this around 2010/11

lots of info on the various sam’s under the cut

sam was the main character until the most recent set of changes where i decided fuck it if  everything revolves around the dallas bros just make them the protags. but he does still have a big role.

initially samantha wasn’t really an “active protagonist” she was more of a “newbie narrator” in that she was totally new to the whole world of supernatural stuff and had the same amount of experience as the reader did. avery was her super shifty butler who wasnt really her butler, he worked for daniel (who also went thru some major character rehaul) and was trying to recruit her (for whatever reason??? idk she knew jack shit abt demons)

samantha 2.0 was a street kid who hunted demons for money, this design/character concept didnt stick around for long since she wasnt a very good protagonist and had absolutely no motive to join up with the guys, she had that shit handled on her own. i did like her character, but she couldnt further the plot i had developed. i get the vague feeling that she didnt like william

sammy gallows (not his real last name lol) was a street kid as well with a gift for seeing demons and while he wasnt super good at killing he could more or less manage himself. daniel wanted him for their organization bc of his gift with sight and with how young he was he wasnt as dedicated to petty crime and could be turned into a decent demon hunter. he was given an option to stay with avery, daniel, or william. daniel and william were honestly horrifying in my first like... 4 drafts but for some reason until he made his decision he stayed with william, but after he decided to join he moved in with avery and he (originally the dallas bros were aristocrats) took on sam as his ward?? bc for whatever reason i thought that was an ok idea?? initially not too crazy about the whole deal, but in the end he was always very eager to help avery with his work. a real cutie patootie

sam mcphearson, sams final evolution. a lot older than any of the others?? lol. originally he was just a guy from boston but then he got possessed by a pretty powerful demon who used his body to go on a killing spree. eventually an exorcism was done, but it was done by amateurs and didnt so much exorcise the demon, just fused the two if them into one person creating the lovable (and very cranky) sam we know today. instead of being mostly associated with avery he lives with his boyfriend (fiance? maybe?) daniel, but is good friends with both dallas brothers. his family background is half mexican half irish, his left arm is a prosthetic. he definitely has demonic powers left over from his possession (which?? never technically ended??) constant dark circles and hella bedhead all the time i love him. said bada bing bada boom in front of william once and has never heard the end of it

(a fun fact about sam is that he was originally the main character when the story was still set in victorian uk, and instead of hanging with daniel, he lived and worked with avery bc honestly daniel was weird as fuck in my first couple drafts) 

but anyway i digress..

sam was a runaway from boston when he got possessed by a demon who used sam’s body to go on a killing spree. he murdered around 15 people in the span of a few months. 

an exorcism was performed but it was done by amateurs and all it managed to do was, more or less, fuse sam and the demon into one person. sam has control of the body now, but its not really “sam” anymore, just a mix of the 2.. 

he moved around a lot after that and ended up in vancouver and heard about what daniel and his team do. seeing as he has some complicated feelings towards demons, he joined up with daniel and his team of monster hunters, and eventually started dating daniel. he has like 3 different kinds of prosthetic arms for his left arm.

daniel came from a family of monster hunters and is more or less just doing what hes always done. when he was around 20 he rounded up some friends who had experience in the area of monster hunting and started up his team. 

(originally it was him, ivan and katya ,oliver and marcellus, and red. eventually katyas girlfriend, tamela, joined on along with the gray sisters and the ji family. sam followed shortly after. daniel works closely with the warlock cassius arden and the earth mage florian kosztolányi, but they cant afford to actually join the organization since they must technically remain “neutral” due to their positions in the counsil. the dallas brothers join much later)

outside of work he likes watching old sitcoms and drinking tea (sometimes coffee, depending on how much work hes had to do lately. theres a surprising amount of paperwork that comes with his job as well) he also likes fancy cheese. hes completely deaf in both ears and loses his hearing aids all the damn time (sam always finds them) hes not the most organized person in the world but hes good at his job nonetheless.
