RIP Sam Moore
October 12, 1935 – January 10, 2025
Sam & Dave's debut album was released on 1 April 1966.
Sam Moore and Dave Prater met in 1961 while both were singing gospel music and began performing gospel music together shortly thereafter. They released a half dozen singles between 1962 and 1964, which brought them to the attention of Atlantic Records, which in turn handed them to Stax Records in Memphis, TN.
Stax producer Jim Stewart used his in-house band, Booker T. & the M.G.s, and relative new songwriters 23-year-old Isaac Hayes and 24-year-old Dave Porter to write songs (along with Booker T. band member Steve Cropper).
The title track, "Hold On, I'm Comin'," was released as a single in March 1966 and topped the Billboard R&B chart (and peaked at #21 on the Hot 100), and the album also hit #1 on the R&B chart (and #45 on the Pop chart).
Not my Gifs but for reference.
If genderbent Sammie wanted to kill Remmick with minimal blood shed, she would literally just do what Jasmine to trick Jafar.
Few shy movements and soft sounds, and Feral Remmick wouldn't question a woman playing into his charm despite looking straight out of hell. He'd might calm down enough to retract claws to get close to Sammie. Before he'd be in range to be stabbed through the heart.

Moore was best known as half of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame soul duo behind "Soul Man" & "Hold On, I'm Coming."
Sam Moore, half of the seminal duo Sam & Dave, died Friday (Jan. 10) in Coral Gables, Fla. The cause of death was complications from surgery. He was 89.
Moore, who was revered by artists including Bruce Springsteen, Phil Collins, Garth Brooks and Jon Bon Jovi, had an instantly recognizable tenor, first heard on such call-and-response classics as Sam & Dave's 1960s hits "Hold On, I'm Coming" and the Grammy-winning "Soul Man," both of which reached No. 1 on Billboard's Hot R&B Singles chart, as well as "I Thank You" and "When Something Is Wrong with My Baby." The duo, who performed at Martin Luther King Jr.'s memorial concert at Madison Square Garden following his assassination in 1968, was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1992 by Billy Joel.
Rest in Power, Sam.
