83 years ago today, the Hindenberg blew up over Lakehurst, NJ. Sam Shere got the shot saying "I had two shots in my big Speed Graphic but I didn't even have time to get it up to my eye. I literally 'shot' from the hip. It was over so fast there was nothing else to do."

A police officer ticketing a woman at Rockaway for "indecent exposure," 1946. Once someone left the beach, they had to cover up with a robe. Men were ticketed, too.
