THIS COUNTRY (ordered to pilot)
based on the same-titled BBC series
The daily lives of cousins Kelly and Shrub Mallet, who are trailed by a documentary crew who go to a small town to study young adults and their current concerns in an idiosyncratic surrounding. The show follows the pair as they pursue their dreams, confront challenges and fight each other for frozen pizza.

Chelsea Holmes (At What Cost?, What r u doing rn?) as Kelly, an outwardly tough young adult who’s actually a softie. She yearns to reconnect with her father and has the dreams of an entrepreneur. In the original series Kerry Mucklowe was played by co-creator and co-writer Daisy May Cooper. (Mar 4)

Seann William Scott (Lethal Weapon) as Father Joe, a recent transplant from Minneapolis who is doing the best he can with what he’s got. Father Joe is a community leader in the Ohio town of Flatch and a father figure to Shrub and Kelly. He tries really hard to remain calm, and although these two often test his patience, he is resolved to stay an optimist and a role model. The role is seemingly inspired by Paul Chahidi’s Reverend Francis Seaton in the original. (Feb 24)
