Prince Loki Friggason of Asgard greets Doctor Jane Foster with a standard Asgardian greeting in Wakanda in front of King T'challa and Princess Shuri and some Avenger members. His hands were cuffed last time and he wishes to make up for that small inconvenience.
Jane was ready to punch Loki. She’d already done it once before and her middle finger still ached sometimes when she bent it, but fuck it, he tried to take over the world and he just had a punchable face.
A handsome face, sure, but still punchable.
He was expecting it this time. She should’ve known he would. As King T’Challa, Shuri, and more Avengers than she could name looked on, Jane reared back her fist, took aim, and fired.
He caught it. For a split second she was sure he’d rip her arm off. Instead, he held her hand like something out of a Regency novel, and then he kissed it. Just like Thor had, but with a sweeping bow.
“It’s an honor to once more make your acquaintance, Dr. Foster,” he said.
Jane’s mouth hung open. She’d never been so speechless in her life, not even when Thor turned out to actually be Thor.
Somewhere in the background, a myriad of reactions happened, none of which Jane was conscious of.
Thor smiled in an oddly knowing fashion.
Tony covered Peter’s eyes, muttering something about protecting the innocent.
Steve suddenly became entranced by everyone’s shoes.
Bucky attempted to blow Loki’s head up with telekinesis.
Natasha drank some vodka.
The next day, an image of Loki and Jane caught on surveillance footage was spread across the internet. The origin of the photo was believed to be a tweet from the handle @shurithegreat.
