I'm the Anon who asked about your dream job. In that case have you ever considered starting a Patreon? It can be a way for people to support you financially if they can. I think it would be a good idea because the support is obviously optional.

Hmm, well it is indeed something I had considered before but I decided not to because I wasn’t really comfortable with asking people for money. But you’re right in saying that it’s optional, so technically that’s not what I would be doing… In which case I suppose it wouldn’t hurt.

I guess I’ll tag this as SS since that’s my largest viewer base.

Well everyone, this has been my hobby for over 5 years now, and as you can imagine it often does take a lot of time to respond to the volume of asks that I get, with the frequency and detail that I usually do. And while I’d like to continue, I’d also like to take this hobby that I love so much, and transfer the skills I’ve obtained while doing this, into a profession that I would love just as much. I’m definitely financially stable with the job I have now, but if I could transform my hobby into a full time profession, then that would be amazing. I don’t dislike my current job, but it’s not everyday that someone gets to make a living doing something that they truly enjoy.

So I suppose I’d like to ask people who have enjoyed what I’ve done over the last few years, to contribute whatever they can afford, to help me so that I may one day be able to secure the job which I always thought would forever remain a dream. If you can’t then that’s of course perfectly fine, I will continue doing this regardless because it’s something that I do sincerely enjoy.

Hi Good morning/afternoon/evening Madara, Sorry for the bother, but can I ask what ur thoughts on the Naruto 4th great ninja war? Personally, I think I would've like it more if Madara is the final boss instead of Kaguya, Because Madara has a literal backstory on why should *he* become the "villain" in the story. While Kaguya, well we've got a glimpse on what happened between her and her lover but it's not enough—well for me anyway. I find it bland and confusing. I'm sorry for all the Kaguya lovers out there, I don't hate her, but the fact that *she* is the final boss doesn't really seemed to make sense to me. Personally, out of all the villains in Naruto, Madara (as expected) is my favorite oat. Even in male characters, he came on top for me. And Madara as the villain *LITERALLY* brings all the flavors to the show. I think all villains bring the flavors to the show but Madara is a different kind. I might sound bias but the show won't run without him. I mean If there's no "bad guys" in shonen, then that isn't a "shonen" anymore right? I find him more interesting than the actual protagonist himself. I don't know, I don't even hate Naruto but he's literally the typical mc of shonen. The kind, "stupid", oblivious/dense, "sad" backstory and later overpowered kind of mc. It just makes him bland and classic in my opinion. And the fact that he can do the "talk no jutsu" thing 😂 (I find it funny whenever the fans call him that) but no shade. I meant no offense for everyone who's gonna get offended. but I'm sorry Madara—out of all the characters and villains in Naruto even Boruto characters/villains, he's really the one that brought all the flavors. Agreed, Madara had so much build up to his arrival during the war, and for his position as the "big bad" of the series to just be usurped out of nowhere by someone who had essentially no hype or excitement about her at all just felt really disappointing. I just didn't really care much about Kaguya at all, and I know I wasn't alone in that.

I found Kaguya to be rather boring, whereas Madara was very charismatic, which just further added to the disappointment.

I can't disagree. People often name Pain as the best villain in the series, and I can understand why. But for me, I'll put both Madara and Orochimaru above Pain in the Naruto villain hierarchy.

You just greatly explained why the MC has never been my favourite character of any shounen, ever. And it also explains why the closest I ever came to having a shounen MC as my favourite character (Edward Elric from FMA: Brotherhood) was because those typical MC traits you described, were the least applicable to Edward. He didn't exhibit much of those traits, he was different, and I appreciated that.

Who do you think is the most complex Naruto character and why? I really enjoyed Obito’s character and his writing, but many people say it was cliche and boring. What do you think?

I'm not the biggest Obito fan, I've gotta be honest. I much preferred his character while he was Tobi and then the fake Madara. After the mask came off, his character just didn't really do it for me. Having said that, Obito's identity reveal (especially in the anime) was done spectacularly.

I don't know who I'd give the most complex character to, but several contenders in my opinion include...

Sasuke

Itachi

Gaara

Kisame

Nagato/Pain

Do you think Hinata & Sakura are as good of friends as canon claim to be? I've heard people claim otherwise because of the lack of support Hinata gives Sakura compared to the other way around. They claim that it's always Sakura helping Hinata and not clockwise.

If canon depicts them as being good friends, then that's what they are. That's what canon means, it means that's the reality. Sakura helped Hinata because Hinata needed help, and Hinata appreciated Sakura's help. It's not Hinata's fault that Sakura was never in a position where Hinata could have aided her in some way. Sakura just gave Hinata some relationship advice, it's not like Sakura was constantly lending Hinata money or doing her all these grand favours (apart from when she saved Hinata's life after she was impaled by Pain of course).

Sure, let me explain what I mean.

Tobirama was undoubtedly very powerful, but he made several very bad decisions, some of which would have cataclysmic effects on the future. For instance, his decision to create the Edo Tensei jutsu:

Think about how different, and better the future would have been, had Tobirama not created that jutsu. Even Orochimaru, the jutsu’s most prominent user, acknowledges the fact that Tobirama should have never persevered with the idea of the jutsu, because he knows how badly the decision affected Konoha in the long run:

Without that jutsu, what would Orochimaru have done against Hiruzen? And how would Kabuto and Obito have fought the war? War is a fundamental part of politics, and future political conflicts could have very well been prevented had Tobirama not created this jutsu.

Not only that, but Orochimaru further highlights Tobirama’s political failings, how badly his decisions negatively affected the future generations of Konoha, and even Hashirama had to join in on the criticism of Tobirama for opting to go ahead with the creation of the Edo Tensei:

With regards to the policies that Orochimaru mentioned which ended up having disastrous affects for the later generations, a large part of this was down to Tobirama’s continued mistreatment of the Uchiha clan, which mostly stemmed from his persistent mistrust of them. He always harboured an innate sort of grudge against them due to the history they shared with his clan, the Senju, and this was evidenced by the very first comment he made to Orochimaru after finding out that Sasuke was an Uchiha:

He labelled Sasuke as “a scoundrel” before knowing the first thing about him, that was simply his innate and automatic opinion of him just because of his lineage.

After discovering what eventually came of the Uchiha with the massacre, Tobirama insinuated that he saw it coming because he noticed that many Uchiha clan members harboured a resentment towards the Konoha hierarchy:

However, Orochimaru knew better than that, and was aware of the true cause for their rebellious nature - It was Tobirama who drove them to it.

By giving the Uchiha the role of the Law Enforcement, Tobirama made them an easy scapegoat for a large proportion of civilian discontent, because as Orochimaru said, those who keep the peace are often viewed with vitriol. Furthermore, by giving them such a morbid building as a base of operations, situated in a location on the outskirts of the village, Tobirama severely ostracised the Uchiha clan:

This ostracism and the general disdain they felt from the regular citizens was what ultimately led to their decision to stage a coup, which in turn led to their massacre, and we all know the horrid effects the Uchiha massacre had. This all could have been avoided if Tobirama hadn’t been so mistrustful of them, and Hashirama explicitly warned him to not slight them because he knew that it was wrong to mistreat all of them just because of the personal feud they had with the clan leader. Tobirama tried to justify himself by claiming he just gave them an occupation he thought they excelled at:

However, you just know that his underlying distrust of the Uchiha was always the key factor in his decision making process, as he makes clear here how he was always influenced by Madara’s past actions. Not only that, but he claims that the entire clan is one “possessed by evil”, a comment which lead even Orochimaru to wonder how deeply Madara had scarred Tobirama, because it was clear that his mistakes in mistreating the Uchiha were always down to him:

So yeah, Tobirama was a powerful Hokage, and he chose a very worthy successor for the position. However, he was severely in need of a competent advisor to deter him from making such disastrous decisions. Someone like Shizune was to Tsunade, or Shikamaru is currently for Naruto. Unfortunately, Tobirama did not have this, and it showed with his colossal errors in judgement.

What do you think about people saying that Hinata "isn't nice" because she's only nice and kind to Naruto? I personally don't believe it, because Hinata is just a shy and meek character. That doesn't mean that she doesn't care about anyone else. Also, you have to remember that Naruto was her inspiration when no one else was really there for her. Why wouldn't you be nice to someone who sees your worth and inspirers you?

Hinata isn't only nice and kind to Naruto though, so I'm not sure where they got that from. That, and I literally can't think of any instances where she wasn't polite or was disrespectful to anyone, so those people are just talking out of their asses I guess.
