Sam Behymer is an artist. She gathers melodies and words; the beautiful, the sad, the inspiring, and the poignant. They distill in her soul becoming greater together than their individual letters and sounds; from this place she sings and you drink in notes, then comes a drunkenness on all that makes a person feel human. It is from listening that you also experience this illogical math, in connecting and experiencing you become greater than just one individual, you realize you are not alone, you may not feel healed but you do feel brave.  This was a portrait series we dreamed up. There is a sadness that creates bravery. There is a fragility that is strength. This wilted roses in the style of a Victorian queen's collar are one way to express those ideas.

To say I love this human is an understatement, she's one of my very best friends, an amazing artist, and has the capacity to connect musically with you when you need it most. You can hear her music here Sam Behymer. We went on a roadtrip recently and came out with some beautiful images.
