Blue Jeans: Casual Editorial
Recently, I teamed up with Once Wed and Temptu to create several editorials promoting Temptu's airbrush system. Amy Clarke offered her makeup expertise, hair by Christian Marc, and model Noel Capri. This is the first set which was a more casual everyday look.
Days on set
I spent all day yesterday on set for a shoot with Once Wed and many others. These are fun days, friends. Makeup: Amy Clarke Hair: Christian Marc and model: Noel Capri
Freixenet Mimosa Recipe for Once Wed
Recently, I collaborated with Once Wed and Freixenet to create a photo drink recipe.
Once Wed + Freixenet: Evening
Freixenet teamed up with Once Wed to promote their new mini bottles. I was excited to work with Emily Newman on creating the mood, and loved what Amy Clarke did with hair and make up, and the rich florals by Kelly Kaufman
Distant Friends
I've been thinking a lot about home. Where we call home, who we call home, what makes us feel at home, etc. For some, its so easily a solid place in existence, it has an address, with a smell of baked goods, a cushioned couch, and an eager dog awaiting your return. I also know that sometimes you can be at home and feel far away, other times you can be distant and feel right at home. This last week I got the chance to be with a friend who now lives far away. It is so nice to able to pick right back up, to feel right at home.
And she was brave: Sam Behymer Portraits
Sam Behymer is an artist. She gathers melodies and words; the beautiful, the sad, the inspiring, and the poignant. They distill in her soul becoming greater together than their individual letters and sounds; from this place she sings and you drink in notes, then comes a drunkenness on all that makes a person feel human. It is from listening that you also experience this illogical math, in connecting and experiencing you become greater than just one individual, you realize you are not alone, you may not feel healed but you do feel brave. This was a portrait series we dreamed up. There is a sadness that creates bravery. There is a fragility that is strength. This wilted roses in the style of a Victorian queen's collar are one way to express those ideas.
Go listen, my favorite is "This Bad Decision" but "Heartmouth" and "Bluebirds In" are quite the listen as well. http://sambehymer.com/
