Aesop - Seoul
Addicted To Retail (ATR) presents: Aesop Samcheong, Seoul, Korea.
Torafu Architects recently completed its ninth storefront for Australian skincare label Aesop, and the new flagship is one of the brand’s best yet. Hot on the heels of Aesop’s Sao Paulo opening, the new store appears right in the heart of Seoul’s Samcheong neighborhood. Boasting an overhauled interior, the sleek space retains the exposed wooden truss of the original building and decorates it with stainless steel fixtures and warm lighting to highlight Aesop’s wares. The real highlight, though, is the unit in the middle of the store as it incorporates point-of-sale counters and sinks for consultations into a single fixture. As for the exterior, a massive glass window makes up the entire front of the building and offers up an uninhibited look inside to catch the attention of passerby.
