Zakki: And so, we've got more mails. From manager Kyo-chan. “Hello. Frfr! There's something that I've always wondered about. Nagisa's big sisters, and the Mikoshiba brothers' sister, could they appear some time? If they did, I would like to see a scene where Nagisa's big sisters are toying with him.”
Wing: [laugh]
Zakki: Ah, that's that! With young Nagisa, right?
Wing: That's right.
Zakki: Yes, yes. Toying with Nagisa. Hey, hey.
Wing: Right.
Zakki: “I cannot even imagine how the Mikoshiba sister is. I'm very curious. Shimazaki-san, Yonaga-san, what kind of personality do you think Nagisa's older sisters and the Mikoshiba sister have? Please tell us how you imagine them.
Wing: Oh... I see... Ah, Nagisa's sister.
(I’m assuming this is the image they’re being shown)
Zakki: Ah, that's his mother.
Wing: Yeah, next to them.
Zakki: Well, they look like it. That's from the last episode. But really, Nagisa's family is basically full of beauties.
Wing: That's true.
Zakki: Basically.
Wing: I wonder which sister this is. He has three, so...
Zakki: Yeah...
Wing: Which one was the one who came for this tournament...
Zakki: Right.
Wing: I talked about it with director Utsumi, and she said Nagisa gets along really well with his youngest sister.
Zakki: !!
Wing: So when he got a text that his mom was coming, it was the youngest, who sent him. So I wonder who is the one who came to see him at the tournament...
Zakki: But his mom looks like a worrywart.
Wing: Yeah! It's cute. And his father, he looks a bit strict, but he's reassuring her gently.
Zakki: Right. Really, the Nagisa family is bad.
Wing: [laugh]
Zakki: I've always imagined Nagisa's sisters as super cute.
Wing: Right!
Zakki: In my head, Nagisa's family is filled with beauties.
Wing: I want to see them too! Not to mention, the sister has a big chest.
Zakki: Ah, indeed. I wonder which one she is.
Wing: Right. It's pretty nice if it's the youngest one who has big breasts, but...
Zakki: Isn't she the youngest after all?
Wing: Maybe.
Zakki: Maybe she's the youngest, who's the nicest to Nagisa...
Wing: Maybe... She does give off a gentle vibe.
Zakki: Right!
Wing: They're huge, how nice... Although I feel like the eldest would be the same.
Zakki: The eldest is probably... Well, it's a bit blurry, but... Maybe she's a beauty that takes after her father?
Wing: Ah, I see.
Zakki: Kind of strong-looking.
Wing: A strict vibe.
Zakki: And so, for studies and such, she's be... She'd try to give him advice, tell him to be serious... And because of it Nagisa would see her as strict. Right. It really teases the imagination.
Wing: Really. But the three of them appeared in a drama CD, right.
Zakki: Ah, in a drama CD?
Wing: Yes, when there was talk about Nagisa getting forced to crossdress when he was little...
Zakki: Oh yeah.
Wing: They were quite loud...
Zakki: Hm.
Wing: So I'd really like to see them as adult. In another side material.
Zakki: But really, everyone in this family is either cute or cool.
Wing: Yeah everyone.
Zakki: And then.
Wing: The Mikoshiba sister.
Zakki: The Mikoshiba sister. What do you think? I think there are two possibilities.
Wing: Oh.
Zakki: First, female Mikoshiba.
Wing: [laugh] That's likely!
Zakki: The most reasonable possibility.
Wing: That's true.
Zakki: But I really like it. I'd probably fall for her. Because, she's probably be really passionate about love, and just be hot as the sun.
Wing: Like, she'd be really pushy about it, right.
Zakki: Right. So, she'd probably seem like she holds herself back more than her brothers, she'd feel more “energetic” than pushy.
Wing: Maybe.
Zakki: I feel like she'd probably say “You're cool!” instead of “You're pretty cyute”.
Wing: Not “you're pretty cyool”?
Zakki: She wouldn't say “pretty”...
Wing: “Wah! You're actually pretty cyool!”
Zakki: She's the little sister, so rather than the “pretty”, she'd insist on the “cool”.
Wing: “Cyool!”
Zakki: The kyu is... I don't like it...
Wing: [laugh]
Zakki: I really like the Mikoshiba family, though... I imagined a female Mikoshiba like this...
Wing: I'm pretty sure she'd said “pretty cyool”.
Zakki: Ah but... Maybe more, “I like you!”
Wing: But that spontaneity, too, don't you think it's pretty cute? Like, suddenly, she looks quiet, but all of a sudden she says something like “you're pretty cyool!”, you'd be like “Huh? This girl... There's a gap?”
Zakki: Ah, but I imagined her not serious. Like Momo, you'll see the family resemblance right away.
Wing: That's true.
Zakki: Always smiling.
Wing: A big sister like that-- Well, for Momo it's a big sister...
Zakki: Good morning!! How are you?!!
Wing: Right.
Zakki: I like you!!
Wing: But... How can it be. Momo, in the beginning, he was shown to like to go hit on girls, right? And, his big brother is more serious about just one person. So which would it be? Would the little sister be dedicated to one person?
Zakki: She'd probably be earnest once she falls in love, but she'd fall in love easily.
Wing: Ah, maybe...
Zakki: And then, after she blurs it out the reaction would be “oh...” and the result would be... It wouldn't work out. [laugh]
Wing: And Gou-chan has like, a ponytail? One, right? So it would be interesting if she had twin tails.
Zakki: Aaah...
Wing: Twin tails, and her hair would be a color like this...
Zakki: Aaah... Hmmm... I imagined it differently.
Wing: [laugh]
Zakki: Although, I said there were two possibilities. The other one would be, the opposite.
Wing: Oh.
Zakki: Because she is in between those two, she thinks “I won't become like this!”
Wing: Because she saw the bad example.
Zakki: She'd take care of all of the other two's overlooks.
Wing: [laugh]
Zakki: “Let's go!” “Onii-chan, we need to plan it out before, right...” “Look Momo, you're forgetting this...”
Wing: That's true.
Zakki: !!
Wing: But really, I want to see the whole family. The father... Is he loud too, or maybe the mother is the one who's always pushing everyone, like “Come on, have a good day!”. And then maybe the father is quiet, and the little sister took after him... Which one would it be?
Zakki: She's definitely beautiful. The mom.
Wing: Probably.
Zakki: Kinda... I mean, I think it'd be nice if the father was manly, and Seijurou would seem like he powered-up in comparison... But with a really beautiful... How to say it? Like, a very bold woman. Like a fantasy's female adventurer.
Wing: [laugh]
Zakki: Like a guildmaster! A bold, Mikoshiba mother. And the Mikoshiba father would be an unexpectedly gentle salary man.
Wing: [laugh]
Zakki: And in that case, the sister could be like the father.
Wing: Quiet. Yeah, it could be the case.
Zakki: Ah, but... I like the idea of all of them being Mikoshiba. The dad, the mom, the sister... All of them like this.
Wing: You'd want the girl to not overlap with Gou's character, after all.
Zakki: Right.
Wing: Have them be a bit opposites.
Zakki: The house's... The house walls, just concrete wouldn't be enough. They need an isolated house.
Wing: That's true... They'd always be lively, right.
Zakki: “Um... Your “Let's eat!” is quite loud... And your “good morning” too...”
Wing: But really, I'd like to visit such a family. All bright and all...
Zakki: And when you go, they'd be like “Haha, is that so, haha, sorry!” and super friendly.
Wing: [giggle]
Zakki: You'd lose all your willpower. Like “Ah, well, they're eating dinner after all...”
Wing: Nagisa would probably immediately get along with them.
Zakki: I really like it too.
Wing: With a family like this.
Zakki: Then, for now, let's just say everyone in the Mikoshiba family is Mikoshiba.
Wing: That's how it goes. The sister too.
Zakki: The father, the mother, everyone. This kind of family.
Wing: That's true.
Zakki: It would be good to see them.
As usual, this isn’t perfect but I hope it’s enjoyable, please tell me if there’s something I should fix.
As a side note, I’d like to mention that Nagisa’s three sisters actually appeared in episode 7.
But count on Miho to not ruin everything with her stupid parasol. Thanks a lot Miho.

Samezuka Channel is a special radio edition that comes as a bonus with the Free! Eternal Summer BD/DVD volumes, each time a different episode with a different guest; the radio hosts are Tsuda Kenjirou and Miyata Kouki. The original Free! web radio is called Iwatobi Channel ES has Shimazaki Nobunaga as the radio host and is available online to listen. The first episode of the Samezuka Channel comes with the first Free! ES DVD (Haruka on the cover) and also has the bonus drama cd track Ano Natsu no Long Slow Distance 01.
- the radio begins with the two radio hosts introducing themselves and using the greeting "Shark" and Kouki also says "rawr". They talk about Iwatobi Channel and their greeting "Frfr!" (Furifuri) and Kouki asks if they should also use "Samesame" and TsudaKen changes it to "samezame" (this is frequent in grammar where one letter changes when you glue two words together, I don't think there's a special meaning there but there's also the fact that "mezame(ru)" might mean "wake up" so there may be some play of words). They also say that the "Shark" greeting might change if they have a better suggestion, or they can also change it each time. (I think I might have to skip some of the things with these two here because Kouki might start some jokes that I can't translate in English well) When Kouki says they can change it every time TsudaKen says that he feels the pressure increase for the recordings so Kouki says they should keep the "Shark" then.
- they say they always said they wanted to do this radio and Kouki comments how they finally started and they're in a conference room, not even a studio. Tsuda says that Iwatobi Channel started from this place, it's the place where you start off; and when Tsuda calls it a cub room, Kouki says "oh, so the setting is that it's a clubroom?". They say imagination's important, and they sart talking about how the room is smelly (they're making the setting, it's not actually true; clubrooms for sports clubs are thought to be? smelly) and they say they're doing the recording, including the staff, in their swimsuits. And Tsuda starts slapping his skin to give the impression they're naked and Kouki calls it shark skin. (Samechan01 ~01:30)
- they start the first part, the W-up= warming up with the first corner, "Free talk". TsudaKen says they (or he) wrote on twitter that they're doing Samezuka Channel and they're waiting for e-mails. And he says that the things related to Iwatobi or Free! get retweeted like crazy, even if it's some worthless post but this news was something important, a big news; and in spite of that, it wasn't re-tweeted so much. He says they should make a comeback and Kouki adds that they also have a guest, also saying that they have a budget and Tsuda agrees and says that Iwatobi Channel has one radio host and one guest, and they're winning in numbers because they're 3 here. And Kouki laughs saying that even if they add up these three's pay, it doesn't compare to Iwachan. (Samechan 01 ~02:40)
- they say it's the first episode and they should do things more important than talk about the pay and they prepare themselves to say the title call and say they should drink some water. Kouki asks Tsuda if he doesn't want any and he answers he has coffee, and Kouki drinks water and also gargles and TsudaKen says it's turning into a dirty programme (Samechan 01 ~05:00)
- the radio hosts introduce themselves and TsudaKen says we can call him "Sei-chan" and Kouki says we can call him "Ai-chan". The guest introduces himself. Hosoyan adds the greeting "Shark" and the other two comment that it seemed a bit shy and they make him do it again and he says it louder and also points that out but the two say the volume's something important. Hosoyan says he thought it's important while looking at Tsuda and Tsuda says it sounds as if you're saying something interesting if you're loud and jokes saying that when you're in trouble you should shout, when you're about to slip. And that you can cover it up. (Samechan 01 ~06:00)
Then Tsuda skips to welcoming Hosoyan and tells him to sit but he answers that he's already sitting. TsudaKen says that Samechan is harsh compared to Iwachan and Hosoyan says "Please take care o' me, Senpai!" and they say that part was in the script. He said the "please take care of me" in a rougher way let's say, in a shortened way and it seems that's how it was actually written in the script and Kouki says that maybe they're going to use it in the anime but Hosoyan is not convinced if Sousuke would say it like that. And the two tell him there is a Sousuke version for this. (Samechan 01 ~ 07:00)
- they say the anime's still airing and they shouldn't say spoilers. Tsuda ends up pretending to be sad that he graduated and Kouki tries to console him while Hosoyan laughs and says that he has a big presence so it's lonely that he left.
tsuda asks Hosoyan how he feels taking part in the recording from the second season. Hosoyan answers that he's gradually(jojo) getting used to it and Tsuda tells him not to talk about other shows lol (Jojo's Bizzare adventure for sure but they censor him with a splashing sound) and keeps saying it. (Samechan 01 ~08:00)
Tsuda asks Hosoyan how the atmosphere is and who's getting in the others' way and he doesn't answer right away and Kouki comes into the chat and says "sorry" and Tsuda scolds Hosoyan not to blame Kouki and Kouki tries pretends to stop him saying that "it's okay, Tsuda-kun, it's my fault after all" and Hosoyan says that Kouki is the one getting in the others' way and everyone laughs. (Samechan 01 ~09:30)
- TsudaKen asks Hosoyan his impression on the anime when he saw it and he answers that he first thought it's pretty and they talk about how the boys actually swim and that's hard to do and Hosoyan says it's difficult to do the breathing when they're swimming and he started coughing when he was supposed to go underwater after breathing or something. Tsuda starts his depression again that he's graduated when he's remembered of it and Hosoyan laughs and Kouki tells him that he did swim the captain competition with 100 people in episode 1 of ES and Tsuda's mood improves. (Samechan 01 ~10:00)
- They want to go to the next corner and Kouki suggests thay should say it in sync and that someone should give the start signal and Tsuda asks Kouki to do it and Kouki asks Hosoyan do it and they don't synch (but that's because the two radio hosts are playing around and started too late). When the two say Hosoyan disrupts the peace there Hosoyan says "Miyata-san's dragging us down" again, like before and they say they're sharks because it's a eat or be eaten thing and that's different from Iwachan, that's a survival radio and Kouki says everyone gets along bad with the others. And that someone's going to be eaten every episode and they'll disappear one by one. (Samechan 01 ~11:00)
- they say the corner title "Free style" together this time. They say there's a form to send mails on the Iwatobi Channel page. And they read mails for Samechan. They read opinions on episodes 01 and 02, but only related to Samezuka Academy and Kouki says there surely are Samezuka fans, like 1 out of ten. And TsudaKen adds that that one out of 10 likes Rin in general. And they say they should do their best for Rin fans. (Samechan 01~12:00)
- the first mail they read is about someone saying she saw the first ES episode and that her heart skipped a beat when Sousuke smiled at the end of the ep. Tsuda asks Hosoyan how that smile was and he makes a "heh" sound that's so far apart from the actual thing, and they laugh and say that actual drawings have a lot of power. The sender also says she's sad Seijuurou's sceen time will decrease and that it's cute how Rin calls Aiichirou "Ai" and says that the Samezuka uniform is always so cool. (Samechan 01 ~13:40)
They say how dirt stands out on white and talk about uniforms and the dirty parts of uniforms and boys and Tsuda says that teenagers probably smell nice and they all disagree, including Tsuda. But they push the imagination idea and say that the smell's not bad and the white uniform stays white and it's the same as their hearts, clean, Kouki adding that they won't talk about money. And Tsudaken tells him that he really likes talking about money. (Samechan 01 ~14:18)
- Hosoyan says when he first saw Tsuda acting Mikoshiba he thought he's like the real thing. He says he borrowed the first DVD of the 1st season and he leaves a big impression and thought Tsudaken was probably doing this with all enthusiasm and he says he did and everyone's doing their best. (Samechan 01 ~15:40)
- the next e-mail talks about the 2nd episode and says that she was looking forward to Rin and Sousuke's interaction She says she saw Rin kick Sousuke and though they were really close and wants to see how they'll get along in the future too and Haru and Sousuke's fight. The boys joke about Rin kicking Sousuke and how he breaks the bone in his leg and such. Hosoyan mentions the part where Sousuke says he decided what he's doing after high school and Kouki goes back to the uniform talk saying that the uniform trousers are white so they get dirty and Tsuda says he kicks him after cleaning up and Kouki says that they're outside and it all concludes to "you shouldn't kick someone in a white uniform". They talk about black ones being better but TsudaKen says that it get lighter colored. Kouki suggests gray and Tsuda says that dirt wouldn't be obvious on that but sweat would and you shouldn't make the mistake to wear a gray shirt at an event for example because it'd be bad. They wonder what color would be good and somehow conclude they should choose red and they make a reference to another anime lol. Again. (but I don't know what, it may be an older one). And they make Hosoyan say the name of the anime they're recording for. (Samechan 01 ~16:40)
- another mail about the 2nd ES episode, about the Samezuka setting and the fact that the cafeteria appeared too and she wishes a Samezuka set meal to be released. When they read that she watched episode two, Kouki and TsudaKen pretend again to be awed by this fact. (Samechan 01 ~18:45)
Kouki says the food looked tasty and Hosoyan says they were eating tonkatsu and that he liked the sound "saku” (some crunching sound)
Then they talk about something they don't name and I suppose it's some fry pan/ some electronic product (Kouki), and Tsuda says it's for people who mind their cholesterol and says because it'd affect their muscles.
They all agree the cafeteria was clean and it's something rare and TsudaKen asks the other two if they had cafeterias at their high schools. Kouki answers that he did and it was dirty. Tsudaken says he gives off that impression and they laugh and Kouki says that his growing up was dirty, huh, and then talks about how it seems worse when you emphasize it (I'm not going to try to explain the Japanese here because it's not something important and I have to browse for a proper explanations; but it's something like the prefix "usui" being used in some words that makes them sound bad. Here it is "usukitanai" in which "usu"= and "kitanai" = dirty); “dirty”, faint smile/usuwarai; almost bald/usurahage (Samechan 01 ~19:00)
> Tsuda asks Hosoyan to answer the question as well and he also uses the same way of bad emphasize on the words saying it was dark using “usugurai/dim” and adds that you don't eat slowly when you're at the cafeteria and says there were no back of chairs and it makes you want to do sit ups?.(Tsuda) And he says how the people lining up for buying bread and the people eating were all mixed up and the two act “UHH”. (Samechan 01 ~20:25)
> Kouki asks Tsuda to talk about his school and he answers in the same way using a word Kouki said when he was talking about this and says "I also had a cafeteria with malicious/faint smiles" and Hosoyan laughs at this. Kouki asks Tsuda what kind of cafeteria that is and he answers that it's a place where everyone's grinning and Kouki doesn't .like the idea. They end the talk mentioning how nice and clean the Samezuka cafeteria was and Kouki says there's no "usui" in it, and says he'd want to eat it. He says he'd like it to be sold at convenience stores or something and maybe they'd invent the menu. (Samechan 01 ~21:00)
> Hosoyan says how he saw Free! on the display at the register at Lawson, mentioning how it was only the Iwatobi members (and I think that also Rin). And they say how this always happen and they can't lose to them. Tsuda jokes about selling things at a very low price and then he ends with the idea of inventing something for 10 yen like scraps of paper. And they say they want Samezuka to be commercialized and be next to Iwatobi at convenience stores. (Samechan 01 ~22:00)
> Tsuda asks what colour Ai-chan (this is how he calls him)'s hair is and Kouki answers it's grey and Tsuda reacts saying it's difficult (was probably thinking of something of this colour for the menu or something). And Kouki jokes Ai looks quiet but he's a challenger, because you won't get that colour unless you risk a little. Tsuda says his character's hair is red and Kouki says it's surprising he wasn't expelled for it. And says it looks joyous when they line up, like red and white for special occasions and then says it'd be expensive so they should make a very small one, like the tip of a finger size, that you can't find if you don't look for it well, like the radio homepage (the Samezuka Channel is only mentioned at the message form in small character. (Samechan 01 ~23:00)
> Hosoyan says his character's hair colour is black and Tsuda says they should add something darkish and Kouki jokes saying it's like his heart.(Samechan 01 ~24:50)
- they start a mini corner called "Samezuka Side Story" but so they don't synch up when saying the name and Koiku teasingly blames Hosoyan for it and they have Tsuda to give the start again and they sync this time. In this corner, they imagine what was going on at the same time as the events in Free! ES 01 and Free! ES 02. This is the first time so they will give an example. The example is what would Seijuurou be doing while Momo said "you're cute" to Gou. Tsuda says a line in Sei's voice: "I have a extremely bad feeling. They talk about how it wouldn't be possible to show both sides in the anime because it'd be long and Kouki says maybe make a Drama CD out of it and they like the idea and Tsuda suggests that maybe they'd have an anime, like a side story/spin off and whispers like it's a secret between them and they say how people would want to see that and it'd be funny and Tsuda sya there'd be nothing refreshing about it (and it'd be funny) because Samezuka doesn't need any of that. Hosoyan asks what impression Samezuka leaves to him if not refreshing and Tsuda says "SHARK!" and everyone laughs including the staff. (Samechan 01 ~25:00)
- They continue with the next part and they don't sync again when saying it and they talk about how they wanted to sync it and they skip past this quickly. And Hosoyan brings the joke from the beginning "Miyata-san is dragging us down" again and Kouki acts affected. They sync it and start the corner "Style One" that will have mails for the guests and the character they voice. Tsuda says it'll be about Hosoyan's character and Hosoyan protests that he sounded uninterested and he says that Sousuke's also in Samezuka so anything good about him will make Samezuka look good too. (Samechan 01 ~27:00)
> the first sender says they watched the 2nd episode of the anime and the boys pretend again to be surprised and awed by this. The sender says they thought the long awaited appearance of Sousuke was very cool, and ask Hosoyan what he thinks about Rin because in Sousuke description it says that Sousuke understands Rin very well. Also asks what he thinks about Mamo (Miyano Mamoru voicing Rin).
Hosoyan says that he thinks both of them are overflowing with talent, and he gives the example of someone who meets Sakamoto Ryouma in the Bakumatsu period and would think of him that he's a man who's going to accomplish big things. Tsuda says how it's usual for Hosoyan to talk about random things that you don't understand (actually he's very logical usually, especially in this, if you listen) and accuse him he's talking about other anime/shows again. Hosoyan tries to calm their blabbling down and he continues giving examples that things like his mentality and his choice of words or if you stay around him, you'll see an amazing world, and he feels something like an admiration for him, and thinks he's going to reach the top. They say how they'll encourage him (probably Rin, in this context?) and Kouki jokes about how if they'll be there to root for him they'll have more screentime. They don't understand Hosoyan's thinking and saying again then and Kouki suggests skipping to the next part and they conclude that he was talking about Bakumatsu and how Sakamoto Ryouma is amazing. (Samechan 01 ~29:00)
- the next mail is from someone whose manager name is “yokochin” and the radio hosts say it's a dirty joke and not to soil Samezuka and Tsuda is censored when he says it's about dicks falling out through the side. (yoko=side; chin(ko)=dick) yes excuse my bad language). The sender says that she watches Free! with her husband who used to swim and says it's an anime that makes him want to go swimming. In the beginning, he was saying how Gou was cute but says that in the Free! ES 02 the husband's heart has been stolen by Sousuke. It seems she was watching the recording alone and he protested that it was unfair, and she asks the boys to say something to the husband. And Hosoyan says "you're a man but it's okay". And Kouki asks if it's something like the Bakumatsu period and they laugh, and TsudaKen adds if it's something like "it's okay if it's Ryouma" (Sakamoto Ryouma) (they are talking about historical facts here) and Hosoyan continues and says that he's actually happy about it, that it's the opposite gender rather than the same, because he liked Gou before and turned his affection to Sousuke. Kouki mentions how it's the power of the illustrations and Tsuda says that it's not thanks to Hosoyan, and Hosoyan says that he's doing the voice (so he has some influence too). And Tsuda says that the art's power is big.(Samechan 01~32:15)
> Hosoyan says he feels more as if they're making the radio together, and he's not a guest. And I think Hosoyan? calls the place a conference room and Kouki corrects him saying it's a clubroom and they pick on him a bit because he said that and because he's sweating a lot. And Hosoyan says that he started feeling a cold sweat because everyone's so quiet around and he doesn't know if he's getting across to them; and the other 2 assure him everyone understands what he says and say Hosoyan is interesting.
And they talk about how it's nice that men also like the anime and they'd like more guys to try it and Hosoyan says "please take care of Samezuka" (after asking in a quieter voice to take care of him/Sousuke) to the listeners and the other two say he finally said something good and Kouki asks that this part should get an echo effect (and it does). And Kouki also adds that he'd like to hear "take care of Nitori or Mikoshiba" and Hosoyan says thay're included in Samezuka. But Hosoyan says it and Kouki makes him say it again louder and Hosoyan says it's kind of embarrassing. (Samechan 01~33:00)
- another corner starts and it' called "Kessen no Style One" (The Style One of the Final battle) and they're glad that they synched this time. TsudaKen says that in this corner they will compete in different events, but this time Hosoyan's the guest, Sousuke from Samezuka, so they'll have a new members' welcome party - and Hosoyan says the thing from the beginning: "please take care of me, Senpai" ("yoroshiku onegai shimasu" in Japanese but he says it in a shortened version like boys in sports club may do sometimes and says "oneshiyasu" instead of "onegai shimasu"). And Kenjirou asks him to say "onegai SHARK" instead of 'onegai shimasu". And Hosoyan is embarrassed probably and says to skip to the next thing but Kenjirou doesn't notice and casually says okay. (Samechan 01~35:00)
> Kenjirou reads this time's training menu and it's "cute lines coaching". He wants to explain the rules and starts from saying that Ai-chan is the cutest character in Samezuka, to which Kouki answers with "would be" and that there are others as well, and Kenjirou says he's the cutest in Free! He says through Kouki's coaching, Hosoyan will say cute lines. He'll read lines cutely even if they aren't cute and says everyone can do it, even himself (Kenjirou), to which Hoosyan laughs and asks "really?" And Kenjirou says "kitty" in a cute way and they say it's cute, then says "marshmallow" (the staff are laughing in the background). He then says they're pros at being cute and Hosoyan is confused. And he says that the word representing Japan right now is "cute/kawaii"(you understand what you want, this is what he says). Of course they joke a bit more and TsudaKen tells Hosoyan that he'll fly over the world bearing "cute" with him, and that he's in the same position as Kyary Pamyu Pamyu and Hosoyan says "no way" and they laugh. They get to things like "fashion monsters" and how the two of them call themselves just monsters and someone mentions Lady Gaga lol and yeah, randomness. (Samechan 01 ~36:40)
> They have some examples of uncute words, such as "sewer pipe", "toilet paper", "twitter posting", "body odor", "bad breath", "public lavatory". Kouki will be the one to start as an example. he starts with "remora" (and Hosoyan says it's not an uncute word and of course the other two are there to contradict him and say random reasons for it and Kouki says it's an indecent word and TsudaKen adds "like you, Hosoya" and he says "please stop it") Hosoyan then is the one to say the word cutely. "kobanzame/remora" and Kouki jumps at him asking if he's making fun of it and Hosoyan asks Kouki to say it again and he copies but gets more rage from Kouki who says that he's making fun of it after all and he denies. They keep making fun of him and all. (Samechan 01 ~38:40)
> The next word is "bakumatsu/the end of the Tokugawa shogunate" and Kouki says it first then Hosoyan. Hosoyan asks more rhetorically that he doesn't need to copy Kouki and he says it and TsudaKen says it's cute and Kouki says that it's better if he doesn't imitate him. (DAMN THIS WAS SO ADORABLE I'M GONNA DIE) and they say how Kouki drags them down (the joke from the beginning) and how his example's a bad one. Tsudaken also says a word cutely and Kouki says it's cute but Hosoyan protests that he didn't even say the word properly. And Hosoyan says it too, like a mumble, imitating him, when they ask him to say it. Hosoyan says another one "kakuteishinkoku/final report" and the other two act as if it wasn't good (probably because he protested before) and Hosoyan is "mad" and asks Kouki to say it too and Kouki acts scared at his snapping back.Kouki says "kakuteishinkoku" and they say it's cute and Hosoyan says it sounds like something that's censored and they accuse him that he's saying other titles again. Tsuda says it too and says "kakuteichinkoku" and someone laughs but Kouki says it's cute. Kouki admits it sounds a bit like a dirty joke (chinko...= dick). And kouki and Tsuda don't care and conclude that everyone said their words cutely. (Samechan 01 ~40:30)
- another part starts, the "Cool Down" part that means we're close to the ending. And Kouki says Hosoyan sweated a lot and he answers that it's because he did his best. And they pick on how Tsuda's heating up instead of cooling down. They say that the track should be 30 minutes and they recorded 44 minutes but they'll fit it into the CD or something. Tsuda says he doesn't get to speak in the anime so he'll use this opportunity, sounding like he's pouting. Hosoyan's the one who triggered the pouting so they say "so this is cooling down".(Samechan 01 ~43:10)
>They say they're requesting mails for Samezuka Channel and not to send in any for Iwatobi, because they'll rip them. They ask for impressions of the anime from Samezuka's side and messages to Samezuka members and others. And Kouki laughs when he tells us to check the Iwatobi Channel home page for more information. And they say they're like renting a coner there and how it's in a little corner, ugly. And Tsuda concludes that probably there were a lot of fans who asked or didn't know where to throw their Samezuka love at so they were asked to make Samezuka Channel. Kouki says to send in like 10 mails per person and Tsuda says it's okay to write the same mail too, like "I love Samezuka". And he says that we should aim to break the server with mails. And Kouki says that then maybe Hosoyan will come as a guest again and Hosoyan askes confused if he'll (only) be called if the server breaks and Kouki corrects himself. Tsuda says that if the number increases their summer won't end. When Hosoyan says they should win over Iwachan, Tsuda says they can't because it's a CD. And he says then they should win in mail numbers. And Kouki jokes that they should make the staff send in 100 mails each. (Samechan 01 ~45:00)
> Tsuda asks if it's okay to make this radio a place where you can lie and Kouki gives his approval. Then Tsuda asks Hosoyan if his real name is "Hirose" and he answers it's not and they laugh. They pick on this and Hosoyan says that the staff's telling them to end the episode. Tsuda answers that they won't end it and Kouki adds that the CD can fit 74 minutes on it. Tsuda says the CD will come with the Free! DVD and they say they want to be praised about how it's a lot and it's wirth listening. And Tsuda calls Hosoyan "Hirose-kun" and Hosoyan tells him Hosoya is his real name.
Tsuda then says they should have a corner where people express their love for Ai-chan and Kouki likes the idea and the staff tell them it's time to end the episode.
They ask Hosoyan for an impression at the end and he says he'd like to come again next time. He says something like maybe they can make a spinoff (?of the radio?) and asks how many DVDs are in plan and the staff answers it's 7 DVDs and the other two make a lot of noise (eating) and they're annoying. And Hosoyan says they should only do some 5 minute spinoff for the 7th volume (they speak at the same time so I didn't catch what kind of spinoff).
Kouki speaks with his mouth full and they don't get what he says and he repeats saying "bakumatsu" and they should do a Bakumatsu Samezuka (you know how it should be if you watched Bakumatsu themed anime like Hakuouki or Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto or Bakumatsu Rock or Peacemaker Kurogane etc). (Samechan 01 ~48:00)
>The radio episode of Iwatobi Channel ends and they introduce themselves again. And it ends with a quick advertisment for the first episode of Ano Natsu no Long Slow Distance, the special Drama for the DVD. (Samechan 01 ~51:00)
-I had a request for Samezuka Channel and it took me like an eternity to even write 10% of it. I’m so sorry! That’s why you shouldn't count on me to do this, or if you do, remind me once in a while so I feel pressured, that’s the best way! And I’m not joking-
The programme’s mail address is [email protected] . You can write directly on http://www.onsen.ag/program/iwatobi_sc2/ and you choose the corner you want to send it to (Free Style, Style One, Samezuka Channel or Other).
Tsuda: So, following up, we're going to read some foreigners' impression of our world-wide famous Samezuka Channel!
Wing: Oh!
Miyata: From overseas? Incredible!
Tsuda: Yep! So, let's see... From Manager "The Tuna of the North Sea".
>"Tsuda-san, Miyatata-san, Yonaga-san, SHARK! I listened to the preview video for Samechan on youtube. It was really loud."
Wing&Miyata: (laugh, Wing clapping)
Miyata: Oh, is that so, we're loud? Foreigners think so?
Tsuda: I wonder... Ah, but this person is Japanese.
Miyata: Ah, ok ok ok ok.
Tsuda: Yep. And:
>"After that, the comments from foreigners made me laugh."
Wing: (laughing in the distance)
Miyata: Aah, from foreigners, who listened!
Tsuda: They watched the video, then looked at the comments.
Miyata: I see!
Wing: So that's what it is.
Miyata: Ah, they're written here.
Tsuda: Yeah they are.
Miyata: So first, this... Since it's in English, let's air them like this first.
Tsuda: There were comment like this. Okay, here.
>Google: Nitori stop being so cute, that's too much.
Miyata: And according to Google translate, this apparently means: "Stop that Nitori is very cute. That's over-doing it."
Wing: I wonder what this means?
Tsuda: I see...
Miyata: So that's a foreigner's opinion.
Wing: I wonder. Because Nitori being too cute, something has stopped? They stopped thinking?
Tsuda: Maybe they had a cardiac arrest or something.
Wing: No way, that'd be bad.
Miyata: That'd be dangerous.
Tsuda: So just their thoughts then.
Miyata: Oh, their thoughts.
Wing: Stay alive!
Tsuda: They said it's over-doing it... So this is a customer complaint, huh.
Miyata: Yes, it is. A complaint about Samechan.
Tsuda: They gave us their complaint.
Wing: Why can't you take it positively?! Why are you being pessimistic? They said "very cute"! Why?!
Tsuda: But they want it to be stopped!
Miyata: Yeah, they want it to stop.
Wing: Well they did say it was very loud...
Miyata: And it's over-doing it. We should do it silently now.
Wing: Silently then?
Miyata: ...Wait, no, let's do another one first.
Wing: There are still others left.
Tsuda: Oh yeah. Next one please.
>Google: Nitori's voice always so cute, someone have to translate it please
Wing: Oh, that's about Nitori-kun again.
Tsuda: There sure are a lot of comments about Nitori. So, basically, according to Google translate: "Nitori's voice is always very cute. Please make it so that someone has to translate it."
Wing&Miyata: (laugh, Wing clapping)
Miyata: This makes no sense.
Tsuda: Which is it? Please make it so that someone has to translate it?
Miyata: Maybe that's their way of complaining about how they don't want to hear Nitori's voice.
Tsuda: That could be it...
Wing: They want to hear it, so that's why they want translations!
Tsuda: No, no. They don't want to hear his voice, but they want to understand what he says, so please translate it.
Miyata: That's it!
Tsuda: Probably.
Miyata: Rather than the audio...
Tsuda: They want to read the translation rather than hear it.
Miyata: Aah... The complaints are getting worse and worse.
Wing: This is bad, huh.
Tsuda: There sure are a lot of complains about Nitori.
Wing: Will Samezuka be okay?
Tsuda: Yeah, yeah.
Wing: I'm getting worried. Ah, there's still more.
Tsuda: Indeed! Please.
>Google: lol all I heard was Seijurou and I f*cking love Seijurou, and then I heard Nitori and for first time he sounds so cute
Miyata: There was some bad word used around Seijurou?
Wing: Wait, this could be bad. So, if we translate it with Google, we get: "Laughing loudly. What I heard was all Seijurow. And then, I love sh*t Seijurou. And after that, I heard Nitori for the first time, and he sounded very cute."
Miyata: Is that a compliment? Sh*t Seijurou.
Tsuda: I love sh*t Seijurou.
Wing: They say that because they love him after all?
Tsuda: I wonder!
Miyata: They love him, yet sh*t Seijurou?
Wing: Do you think this is another complaint?
Tsuda: Definitely! They said shit Seijurou!
Miyata: They're bad-mouthing him!
Tsuda: Right, right.
Miyata: I love sh*t Seijurou.
Wing: As in, could he shut up?
Tsuda: That must be it. What I heard was all Seijurou... This doesn't sound right somehow.
Wing: I wonder what it's about. Laughing loudly. What I heard was all Seijurou.
Tsuda: I see...
Wing: Maybe they're saying the laughs all sounded like Seijurou-san.
Miyata: Oh, that's it.
Tsuda: I see.
Miyata: Well, that's a complaint.
Tsuda: Definitely.
Wing: Indeed.
Miyata: Like, "don't laugh so loudly!"
Tsuda&Wing: Aah, that's it!
Tsuda: Sorry!
Wing: Ah, but it's a good thing!
Tsuda: <I'm sorry!>
Wing: <I'm sorry!> Ah!
Miyata: So cool! International!
Tsuda: Yes yes yes, internationally. <I'm f*cking sorry!>
Miyata: Refrain from saying stuff like this!
Wing: They definitely added a splash over it!
Tsuda: *splash sound*
Wing: Hey! Hey, please someone stop the ex-captain!
Tsuda: I'm the assistant captain! (referring to a joke they said earlier during the radio)
Wing: Ah, there's more.
Miyata: So, one more!
Tsuda: Ok ok, let's try!
>Google: Oh my god, I am so happy I can nihongo, omg omg omg om cuuute
Wing: What?! What?! What is this?
Tsuda: What's this?
Wing: It doesn't sound like it makes any sense even in English!
Tsuda: No idea.
Miyata: Want to hear once more?
Tsuda: Yeah, yeah
>Google: Oh my god, I am so happy I can nihongo, omg omg omg om cuuute
Miyata: Am I hearing right...
Tsuda: It doesn't feel right.
Wing: What could this be?
Miyata: And so if we Google translate it to Japanese, we get: "My god. Ah, I'm happy I can do Japanese. It's really really really really cute!"
Tsuda: So that's the translation.
Miyata: What does this mean even?
Tsuda: My god.
Miyata: My god. Ah, I'm happy I can do Japanese. It's really really really really cute.
Wing: The way they say it in English is funny, "really really", right.
Tsuda&Wing: Omg, omg, omg, omg, cuuuute.
Miyata: Now that's a complaint.
Tsuda: It is. Omg omg omg.
Wing: They're saying they're having too much fun.
Tsuda: Sorry you've all had to complain...
Miyata: Let's be careful about all this now.
Wing: Right.
Tsuda: Yeah, so we don't get told this.
Wing: But this is fun, huh!
Tsuda&Miyata: It is!
Wing: Google translate is really fun.
Tsuda: I want to make it translate all kind of things.
Wing: Right? If more comments come, you should introduce them like this.
Miyata: But we're actually spreading overseas.
Tsuda: We are, it's great!
Wing: As expected!
Tsuda: It means we're being listened to, right!
Miyata: Right! Maybe that's it, maybe there are also a lot of sharks overseas.
Tsuda: Aaah!
Wing: Probably!
Tsuda: Like (probably some sharks name or whatever)!
Wing: Lots of them.
Miyata: That's right.
Wing: As expected.
Tsuda: Sharks.
Miyata: Sharks, right.
Tsuda: Right. Sharks, after all!
Wing: Sharks.
Tsuda: I don't even know what rockhopper penguins (Iwatobi) are.
Miyata: What's that, a rockhopper penguin?
Tsuda: Yeah what's that?
Wing: <Oh, shaaark!>
Tsuda: <You shark?>
Wing: <I shark, yes yes yes!>
Tsuda: <Shark too!>
Wing: <Shark too shark too!>
(laughing)
Miyata: That's how it is, huh.
Tsuda: Well well, let's keep spreading overseas too.
Miyata: Yeah, let's. But only Samechan.
Wing: That's right, let's do it, just Samechan.
Tsuda: We're waiting from your mails from overseas too!
Miyata&Wing: Yes!
TL Notes: This is a mess but that's how radios are so yeah. I ~skillfully~ dodged the lines I couldn't understand so if you hear someone saying something that seems to have been omitted from my translation it's that I couldn't understand. Tehe :9 Also I'm not posting this on Pastebin because first I can't really include the audio as well on Pastebin and I'd rather keep it for my full translations. And finally I don't know anything about Tumblr audio posting rules but I've seen people posting bits of other radios so this is okay right? Yeah.
Also, many thanks to Tumblr user lilacpinkballad who posted a link to this page that's filled with wonder. Thank you!
Thank you very much! :) I understand. This is a very big task to achieve. Summary like you do for Iwatobi Channel are enough for me! Take your time. Also I hope you don't mind, but I linked you (and credits/thanks) on the Free! Masterpost I created concerning the work you do about Iwatobi Channel : aliasanonyme(.)tumblr(.)com/post/103903748929/masterpost-free
It’s not that grand but it takes time and I can’t start right away and I’m also 100% lazy so it was a “warning” that I’m slow hahaOf course I don’t mind, please link anything you want! I saw your masterpost and it’s amazing! I’ll be glad if I can contribute to that! (I still posted this but tell me if you want it deleted, I never know what I should post and what not when people don’t ask on anonymous but thanks a lot for your messages!!)
