helloo! unfortunately, @frodosrings and i have been mostly uninterested in doing the event again. although it was extremely fun last year, we have been a lot busier, and also frodosrings is off tumblr. if anyone sees this and is interested in taking up the event, please send this account or me @silme-lorien a DM! we would love to pass the torch :)

Okay to preface this I just wanted to say I enjoyed this event so much! The prompts were so creative and fun! The event felt very welcoming and I felt a genuine sense of community while participating. Thank you both so much for running it you did a great job! Also I understand the amount of work and time that goes into running an event like this.
That being said, I was wondering if there are plans for a similar event or a 2026 one? If you don't know yet or the answer is no I totally understand but I was just curious! Because I would love to participate again!
(hi! it’s slime speaking). thank you very much, that is so kind! we put a lot of work into this event, and we are so glad that so many of you participated and made such beautiful works. we are so so grateful that our idea inspired so much samfro goodness. (and apparently as of today 1% of all samfro fics on ao3 are samfro summer!). <3
@frodosrings and i have talked briefly about making the event reoccurring. we have decided that if all goes well and we are still interested a few months from now, we will start making preparations to create samfro summer 2.0! it’s not set in stone, of course planning this kind of thing so far out makes it incredibly subject to change, but we have talked about it and the idea is on the table! we have also spoken a little bit about doing other events, so watch out for that 👀 it’ll likely happen in the new year.
again, thank you everyone for being so amazing during this event, we worked really hard and seeing the community come together because of it has been so cool!
reminder that late submissions are still very welcome (we know some of you are finishing yours up!), but please tag this account or @frodosrings / @silme-lorien in your pieces or else we may not see them due to us not checking the hashtag throughout the day any longer! we’d hate to miss them!

It was a little-known secret that hobbits had magic of their own. Though not as outright as elves or wizards with immortality and eyesight past the horizon, or fireworks conjured from nothing. They wielded magic in their own quiet way. In the way they could sense the plants around them, feeling them breathe and sway as if they were one and the same. In the way that almost anything could grow, no matter the conditions, as long as a hobbit had planted it.

I kind of mention this in the authors note but I wanted to post it here! I will be posting day 5 tomorrow since it goes with day 3! But I promise I wont put out anything else late after that😅😅😅! This event was so fun and I loved participating! Even if I only discovered it 4 days before! Sorry that everything I put out was horribly late! And thank you so much to the people who made it happen! i could say a bunch of words about how special you’ve all made this and how grateful slime and i are for your participation and support, but i’ll save the sob story and just say that we are beyond amazed at everyone’s work, you’ve all made this event so wonderful for us and we truly could not have imagined a better outcome. be proud of your work, and continue to go through and leave some kudos and notes on other pieces!
