Heres my last post for the day before i head to Sydney!! So while waiting to get on the aircraft in munich, i got some time at duty free. Usually i wouldn’t shop chocolate at duty free, because what you find is the most commercial ones which aren’t necessarily the best. Il explain in detail on another post. I picked up this tin ( or should i call it a box>? ) simply because of the packing. Theres just another feel to packing chocolate in a metal box. It gives it a sort of importance i would relate to something costly and valuable. Pecare by Peters, Cassis- Marc De Champagne Now i know cassis is the term for black currents, but i wasn’t sure what Marc de Champagne meant. Kindredcocktails.com says, Marc de Champagne is a type of grappa made in the Champagne region of France. Marc is made from pomace -- the leftover skins, seeds and stems from the production of wine that are fermented and distilled into brandy. Champagne producers typically do not have their own facilities for the production of Marc -- they send out their pomace to a local distiller, who then sends back the Marc for bottling and labelling. Many Champagne houses sell Marc at the cellar door, but very little of it is exported. Marc comes in an unaged variety, but some are aged in oak barrels -- these will be labelled Vieux or Tres Vieux. Most Marc de Champagne is 80 proof. How did it taste? Bubbly and buttery, with hints of cassis. Should you spend energy finding it?
