In 1921, around 500 embroidered small pattern stains, some of which were knotted with glass beads, were included in the collections of the Folklore Museum as “Ruthenian women's works”. The manufacturers of the pieces came from places in Galicia, i.e. from what is now Ukraine and what is now Poland, and were interned in refugee camps at the beginning of the First World War, where the sample pieces were made. In the exhibition “The War Aid. Art, Commerce and Industry in the Service of War Aid ”, these were shown in 1915 along with other products and photos. The kk Ministry of the Interior's propaganda show was intended to demonstrate to the public how well and comprehensively the state is taking care of the large number of refugees. This volume offers an analysis of the presentation at that time.
