This sampling includes dystopian fiction, post-apocalyptic fiction, young adult fantasy, and nonfiction . The most important thing creating this was that readers clearly had a break from reality and everyday life: a number of the stories are set in outer-space, after a catastrophic event, or in a setting that most young adult readers have never been in. This break in setting and general story-lines will provide young adult readers a true escape from their everyday lives, but allow them to draw parallels to their lives.
