You are a monster. *weeps* parent stories, baby raleigh. lady knights :(((((
Raleigh Samson learning compassion from his parents, although learning patience was tougher, leaning towards impossible. Baby Raleigh being soooo excited when his mom would come out to the farm to stay the weekend. Giggling and squealing as she’d toss him up into the air to catch him and tickle him until tears roll down his chubby cheeks.
Seeing the way his dad looked at her, hearing the way his friends and their parents talked about how brave and true and strong she was, and here she was, his mum.
Practicing the Chant together, sparring in the yard, talking about the Maker and his plans for the world.
Losing her for a few years but then rediscovering her again as he starts working at the Gallows? He learns about Knight-Captain Deidre from the older templars. Wondering where she sat when she ate lunch? Which swords on the training racks she used? Wondering which mages she talked to? Hearing stories about her from Knight-Commander Guylain? He learns about this whole other facet of his mother that he never knew and it’s like being close to her again.
He has to push away her voice in his head as he takes up the mantle of General. He tells her that she doesn’t know what its like now, what the Chantry did to them. He has to make it right, he has to make them hurt. This won’t be another pain that the Templars have to bear, he’ll stand up and say “enough is fucking enough”.
